Seems like we have been busting to get ready for our first campout of the year. We got a number of small fixit items taken care of and it felt so good to be able to rip up the fix it list. Today i even decided we could safely take out our duct tape /cardboard floor. The new vinyl floor cleaned up easy pie. DH checked the levelness of the REf and it was dead center level. DH promised me he would lower the HILo down and put our new buble on the exterior top half in the middle. The weather has been getting nicer each day and i hope it warms up early enough so that we can at least get the trailer washed. Wishing all the Mothers a very special day on Sunday!!

I have been watching your repair job and it looks like you and hubby did an excellent job.Hope you have a great time on your first trip out this year.

First camping trip.

Thanks for the good thoughts. The weather looks very good. Two years ago we went camping at this time and it was only 50 degrees. Happy mothers day to all.

Heading to PSU Book Sale

We are packing up and getting ready to go the annual Penn State Women's Alumni Book Sale. We will be staying at the Bellefonte KOA. If you are a book person this used book sale is awesome. Estimated 250,000 books of all types. It is held in the Ag Arena across the street from Beaver Stadium.

Have a great weekend all, and Happy Mother's day!

Had our first outing this past weekend. Great to be back on the road, Hi-Lo smoothly gliding behind, even if it was just a short trip of about 45 minutes from home. Pretty little campground right on the Snake. The river was running too fast and cold for catching fish, but still, the trip was perfect for a shakedown run before our long trek to Virginia. Rained cats and dogs the first night...good thing too, because it revealed two window frame leaks. Already repaired and good to go!

This was the first winter we stowed the new (to us) Hi-Lo under a cover, thankfully! After viewing some of the wall damage photos shared in the HTF, and reading of the VERY involved repairs...well I don't want to be anywhere close to going down that road!

Pictures from our Kamping weekend

SDC10575.jpg We had a "Supercalifragllisticexpialidocious Kamping weeking at the KOA in Medina NY". Our HiLo,welcome friends. This is where the mirror used to be that i hated.

SDC10576.jpg DH looks very tired from all the packing. Just need to install the buble then we can leave.

SDC10577.jpg Enjoying a campfire with some HiLo friends and other campers.

SDC10578.jpg Our wagon master Heath Galister. Anyone could pay $5.00 to cancer care for kids and get a duck to race.Heath didn't go watch the race and he won the race/prize of $25.00 and certificate. He will be in Tenn. so you can congratulate him!!

SDC10580.jpg Some pictures of the campground. Laundry building/restroom showers.

Our Kamping weekend

My daughter says she will post the rest of the pictures tomorrow. My daughter went fishing and she caught two small fish and released them. I didn't realize she left or i would have gotten a picture. This campsite is one hour away from our home. My sisters house is near the KOA so we stopped on the way to check out her remodeling. Our HiLo was great . Everyone came for the quarter tour of our restoration. They said it looked brand new.We had no rain just 72 degree weather. Their were so many maple trees around it was at time raining "twirlie bird maple leaves"..One of our members had a propane leak that he thought he had fixed at home. Another motor homeowner with our group went with him to the ace hardwearstore for parts and replaced the line within ten minutes. He owns a Automotive garage. That earned him a six pack of cold beer. Our group has expanded to some relatives of HiLo owners with SOB rigs. We had a wonderful pancake breakfast and two potluck dinners in the group shelter. A few of the sites were flooded muddy. Extra sites were available. The campsite was full house. Another towlite owner that wasn't with our group came in and we invited them to join us,but they didn't. I'm glad to hear that other HiLo owners are also starting to camp. It is good to have a spring shakedown campout to see what you forgot to pack (nothing) or what repairs you need to make.

Window leaks

JM Doering, Glad you caught your window leaks. This is why our HiLo dealer strongly advises when the trailer is a few years old that the windows be taken out and resealed. It is an investment of some time and materials. Better to do this than a total rebuild.
