We've been busy doing lots of odds and ends to our HiLo. On the inside I touched up so weak spots on the wood with Early American stain by Minwax. DH replaced the driver side roof trim that had been on for one year and had shrunk. This needs to be installed in the shade. Next we removed and spray painted the two cord hatches. First time using Krylon plastic paint. The job came out nice with gloss white. May have to replace the hatches as they are somewhat brittle. DH had a chance to wash the roof and trailer. He will put on the rubber roof primmer and top coat. Watching the weather to see when I can spray paint some of the faded stripes/decals. DH vaccumed out the furnace and hot water heater from the outside. Looks like next week will have some rain free days. Lastly I need to shampoo three rugs. I'm going to power wash the steel blinds on a low setting. This way we'll be set to camp in May without having to do maintenance. Hate to put the HiLo away as this means cold weather.

You can't put it away yet. There is still some nice weather to come. We don't give in until after the middle of October.

stopping

Well down here we stop the camping season on 12/31 and don't restart till 1/1. As others have said things are different down here. Yes I used to live in Minn so understand that snow thing. I've seen 10 ft snow drifts. I guess that's one of the reasons my family stays here in the South.

Plan and stay warm. Enjoy the camping as late in the year as you possible can.

Later Tim

Going by memory (weak)

Our last frost/freeze was Jan/Feb 2010. Brrr.... and it persisted for several weeks. So yeah, we too know cold.

Worked on the HiLo today. Scraped off some caulk around the door. Then taped off and spray painted the door white. DH renewed roof line with dicor lapseal. Then he rolled on one coat of rubber rood primmer. Rain is in the forecast then cooler weather..mid 60s. I had hoped to camp one more time. Trying to squeeze in some outdoor chores.
