guide rail

I am curious if there is any maintenance needed on the guide rails. I am referring to the rails on the outside of the trailer. Mine just has 2. Should those be greased up

maybe parrafin (?). Seems I remember somebody suggesting that somewhere along the way. I wouldn't use grease as it wold collect dirt etc and gum things up.

I've used Boeshield T-9 spray lubricant on the guide rails......but it's good on many other items, too. It's big in woodworking circles....used to lubricate saw blades and to prevent rust on all tools.

lubing guide rails

DH uses silicone spray. I remember seeing some dry lube in the RV isle at Walmart. I think it is a spray.

I tried that dry lube graphite, messy and hard to clean up, if it's the same stuff. It's now in my old paint locker. I DO use T-9 a lot since I received two cans from the "boat man" near by. Happy Halloween to all!

I have used parafin for a long time. Just rub it on the rails, front and backside now and then. If they get noisie when running the top up or down rub some on. A small piece goes a long ways. It was recommended by JR Repair if I remember correctly.
