thanks fellas! would any of you say that the Flamma or the Horizon awnings are a good deal!? so i dont have to deal with the lower arms for the awning? and should i just check with an awning dealer locally and see what they suggest?!? im afraid of it weighing too much on the side of the trailer.. and $$$$$$...

Mine has the fiamma (branded horizon) cartridge type awning, it cranks out with little effort when new, more effort after the winds throw awning up over top of the RV a couple times, lol.
I think MOST awnings are at risk with windy conditions, I dunno, so dont think I know which is better, yet. Even though mine has legs for both ends of it that attach to camper bracket (not anything special nor like the ones posted above) or the legs can be staked into ground. I like mine just OK, but older models (mine) had many plastic parts that I have replaced with newer aluminium pieces from Fiamma. I bought a telescoping pole to hook to middle of anwing to tie to ground for this next season, help hold things down. 2 of 4 trips wind came up quickly while we were out boating, not fun, staking legs to ground worked better than when hooked into brackets on camper. These are stock brackets for side legs (or supports I guess they are called) and are bolted to the bottom edge of bottom of my camper... yes I can raise and lower camper to help me get awning up, with out much issue, you just losen BOTH side support's bolt that lets them telescope, and pay attention as you go up or down.
My dad's coach, has the fully electric fiama cartridge, BUT has no legs/supports on each end to even use, but it is a nicer stock setup --> it retracts itself if wind is above 28mph has a wind sensor & remote control opener, even if you are gone. Not sure how much more that costs, but seems worth it to me, from my experience...
we live in KS wind always blows, unless I am at work, lol.
