I spoke with the owner of Mantelli trailer sales today. Our HiLo dealer. Kim has given me permission to post this information. She really wants to clear out her inventory of HiLo parts. Part prices are very reasonable. Soon she will be emailing me pictures to post. !. fiberglass propane cover. Cover for spare tire that fits on the back bumper. Several lower fiberglass panels. I have three panels in my home now. I don't have anywhere to store big items. I will be able to keep one tote of smaller parts.

Does she have any hydraulic cylinder rod threaded ends. My neighbors just sheared off. That also bent the thrust plate guidance rod. That can prob be found at any metal supplier. Thanks!

Please post pictures of what you need.

We can better help you if we see pictures of the needed parts. I am sure some one has done this repair.

Do you have a lift cable in the inventory? Willys

Getting lift cables.

I am sorry I doen't have lift cables in my parts that were given to me. I know several have done this repair and should be able to tell you a source for parts. My friend replaced his cables in two HiLOS that he owned. He has passed away. If my memory serves me correctly he used Aircraft cable. Possibly got them at a hardware store? able replacement in my 1998 Hilo24TD. This is fifteen pages of instruction and pictures. 3-3-2010. Perhaps some one that is much better at computer can post the link. This is something like an eight hour job. My friend said he invented some new words when he did this job!!

Preventive maintenance.

DH says he spends 45minutes using Break Free to lubricate the cables. It is a job to keep tipping the trailer in different positions. Wear old clothes as you get greasy. Break Free cleans, protects and lubricates. It is found in the gun section at Walmart.

Does anyone have instructions on replacing the lift cables? Parts info? Either made or make my own.
Appreciate it!

Do a search.

Cable replacement in mym1998 HiLo 24TD. 3-3-2010. One of our member did a beautiful document with pictures and explinations on how he replaced his cables. It tells what he used for cables and what tools he bought.

He mentions J&R trailer. No such place anymore.
No info on cable length, sourcing etc.
I found 3/16" cable on Amazon and threaded cable ends to press on. I'll figure it out....

Use the broken cable as a guide for length, but add some. If you bought the OEM cables, you'd have to adjust their length too - there was no real "standard".

Use a "Comealong" to stretch the slack out of the cable and have the cable adjusting bolt just 2 nuts worth outside the frame, so that you have maximum takeup capability once you attach the cable to the top half.

You can get all the parts you need for DIY cables online or at home improvement stores.

Do the lower panels you have fit a 3104C? I assume I'd have to cut and fit. Mine look more plastic than fiberglass.

Lower panel plastic parts.

You will need to send me a picture and measurements. I have three panels and have no idea which model HiLo they are from.
