Redneck, welcome to the forum. I moved your post to its own thread in the electrical section because it has nothing to do with Owner's Manuals.

The solenoid is essentially just a heavy-duty relay that moves a plunger to engage high current carrying contacts when a lower current control circuit is completed. This action should result in a fairly loud "click" as the plunger is moved. Do you hear this "click" when power is applied to the solenoid? If not, the plunger is not moving and I'd replace it.

If you DO hear the click but power is not reaching the motor, are the contacts from the battery to the solenoid and then to the motor and back to the battery tight and corrosion-free? If so, then I'd say the contacts in the solenoid are bad and I'd replace it.
