I happened onto this website and I thought it would be good to share it with you. Many of us have dual batteries on our HiLo trailers that are wired in parallel to provide higher capacity 12 volt power. But do we have them wired correctly? As you will see, it does make a difference.

As the article states, two battery hookups are not as critical as it is with more batteries.

An Added Note

When you add the second battery and have connected positive to positive, and negative to negative, you should connect the trailer wires to the positive of the first battery and the negative of the second battery. That gives the most equal flow of current through the batteries and to the trailer. The link article didn't have the illustrations broken down to show two batteries.

Good find, Rich. I DO have my batteries wired so the positive feed (and charge) is from one and the negative feed/charge is from the other. I doubt the cable resistance is TOO significant in most cases, but still, whenever there is a heavy Amp draw, it DOES matter.
