I have a week alone with my Honey in June and was planning a trip. We usually do state park camping, but was considering a longer trip. Looking for suggestions. We live in southwestern PA. We had ideas of a fingerlakes/Adirondacks or a Adirondacks/Smugglers notch trip, or maybe just tour around PA. Maybe West Virginia/Virginia???? Any thoughts?

Hey David,

Well, I don't know much about your neck of the woods, but I do know something about being a newlywed (and you're close enough). So my suggestion is: Get a good quality double sleeping bag. ;)

Niagara is nice, we took the kids up there a few years back. We may head back up to the Adirondacks. When we went on our honeymoon back in 06 it rained until we made it up yo lake champlain. That was back in the tent days stayed at Indian lake in a cottage to save soaking the tent early in the trip, while on a motorcycle.

Well- a bit of a ride but i would recommend Lake Superior --Bayfield Wi area or along the shore of Michigans UP. Some great campgrounds and beautiful secluded beaches up in that area if you are going that route (camping). Otherwise- sleeping bear dunes and traverse City area in MI along Lake Michigan would be a tidge closer. Actually- pretty do-able I would think.
