i need to lift the upper part of my 1968 voyager to repair it. Is there any set proceedures on how to do it . Or do I just have to figure it out?

I am assuming the lift doesn't work. In that case you either need about eight guys from for local college team to grab and lift while you put support under it or many have used farm jacks to lift. A little on each corner at a time and support with 2x4 s once you have it up.

continuing lifting the upper part of my hilo

I need to lift or jack up the upper part of my camper past the up position. I need to find out what exactly what I need to do to take it up past the up position and then support it. Mechanically I have to make a jacking and support mechanism. I am sure someone has had to do this before, I just want to avoid some of, pitfalls that someone else has discovered in order not to make the same mistake.

I would think that to get up " past the up position" you would need to disconnect the cables at some point. I have never done it but that would be common sense to me. I would also think the seal at the bottom would have to be removed if you wanted to go higher than that. Why do you?

Farm jacks would work for raising it and then you support it with equal length 2x4s at each corner. I don't know what impact it would have n the guides that the top slides along. Others may have an opinion on this.

the ongoing saga of raising the upper part of my Hi lo

I apperciate the imput I am getting. I have to repair serious water damage. The entire lower support of the upper needs to be replace> I realize that this is a major under taking. It is more work than money and if I succeed I have restored a very old HiLo.
