Will I have any pressure issues with installing the manual hydraulic lift mechanism? Want to be sure I don't loose all my fluid when I remove the two screws for installation.

I'll answer my own question. I removed the screws; they were not under pressure. Installed the manual lever without difficulty and tested. Works fine. Hope I never need it.

:) :) YOU may be the only one who has done this job! Did you take pictures or otherwise document what you did? If so, post them. Congrats on doing this. In my opinion, this is a must-have option.

Of all the Hi Los I've worked on, I've only seen two that didn't have that option, but if you would, give us the details, where you ordered the parts, any install problems, ETC. As Jack says, pictures would be great!
Thanks,

I believe the manual lift was standard on Classic models and was an option on early Towlite just to keep the price down, but I think they were included as a factory installed option as an add on some. I don't know about the Funlite models. It's like the cars that come into the dealers with factory options just to up the price and profit. But then my memory is bad.

Rich, if I run into any other HI LOs without them then I could add them. Agree with all those who wish they had them. Sure glad I have one just for that time when my batts fail, or an electric problem. Of course we all know when that happens it will be when it's raining buckets and the wind is 60mph!

My Funlite doesn't have a manual option. The battery has to be charged to get the top up. I tried jumper cables once, but that didn't work. A manal option would be nice to have. Who sells the kit?

Manual lift installation

I ordered the part from J & R Trailer. Found the info on this forum. Cost was about 270 with shipping charges. Received it in less than a week.
Installation was simple. Notice on the first picture the flat surface beneath the red battery cables. Wipe this area clean as this will be where you install. There are two screws which need to be removed. The lift mechanism will attach to that area with the two bolts provided. Tighten enough to seat the two "O" rings and you are done. Pump the leaver a few times to prime and lift away if needed. There was not a pressure issue with my trailer in the up position. The second photo shows the completed work. Ron
