Hi All,
I’ve replaced the rear marker light on my 85 Hi Low. I’ve replaced them with some LED lights. Just one problem...they don’t work! There is not any power getting to any of the ones I’ve replaced.
All other lights, tail, turn, brake, etc and front markers (original) all work.
Does anyone know where the rear markers get power from?
Thanks,
Dean

I purchase LED marker bulbs a few years ago and like you, they didn't work. Quick troubleshooting found those bulbs were POSITIVE ground. Replaced with negative ground-all better. Hope that's your problem ans not a wiring issue.

I agree with this. LED lights are polarity sensitive. I believe the marker lights are on the same circuit as the taillights.

Why did you replace the old ones was it because they did not work? Did you check with a multi meter to see if you are actually getting power to those lights. Before you get into alot of headache do yourself a favor if you do not have a multi meter or circit tester please buy one. Test your power wire to make sure you have power to light then proceed from there.

Did you change the marker light assembly or just the bulbs? Some led bulbs have to have the correct polarity in the socket. Pull a non working bulb out of the socket, rotate it 180 degrees, and reinsert the bulb in the socket. That is how I corrected my bulb problem when I switched to leds.
