We just picked up my 2209T this morning from a dealer 200 miles away:). The dealer installed a Reese WD hitch with a friction anti-sway and a Prodigy electric brake. They properly set up the hitch and brake and gave me about a 60 minute orientation on the trailer and then an on-the-road orientation.

I've towed a boat, utilitiy trailers and a pop-up in the past, but nothing this big and heavy. We bought the Hilo because we intend to do some long range travel in the not-too-distant future and wanted a camper that trailered well.

I wasn't disappointed. The Hilo was a dream to pull with absolutely no sway at 65 to 70mph on the interstate with cruise control. Tractor trailers either passing or being passed had little to no effect. I was very pleased with the overall trailering performance. My tow vehicle is a 2010 Suburban with a 5.3 gas engine. I got 12.6 mpg over the 200 miles. The only downside was the lack of side mirror vision. I definately need to purchase the mirror extensions reviewed on other threads.

Now, I think we'll take the advice from some of the pros on this site and experience some "driveway camping" this weekend before hitting the road. Thanks Neal and Bev and other members for a very helpful site!

Homey

PS - (would love to have a PDF owners manual for the 2209T)
