Hey folks, there is a standard house light switch and a power cord on my back wall. I can't figure out what they're all about and there's no mention in the manual. Any ideas?

Hi pjriss - I suspect the cord you are seeing is to provide power to your roof mounted Air Conditioner, from the Converter, which is mounted in the bottom half.

I can only guess about the switch. Does it "enable" the bathroom lighting, an outlet in there, or, possibly control the porch light by the door?

AC cord

I believe the the cord is your Air conditioner which may require 30amp service to operate properly. You notice that the cord come out of the wall with a cover that lift up. that is so you can tuck the whole cord and plug end inside. Be sure to unplug and tuck it in and close the cover before lowering your top!. If you don't you could damage or rip off the cord or even get it stuck between the top and the bottom of your trailer. I was concerned the plug was tucked in that it might drop to low and I might not be able to get it out ( which it never has) so I securely tied a strong nylon string around the plug end and fastened it to the wall beside the cover just in case. :D

in my 2001 there is an extra switch in the bathroom located on backwall above the shower which seems to control a couple of lights in there. I have never figured out why it was needed------so once I get it in the correct position for everything to work I leave it there. Every couple of years i end of screwing around with it but then forget what its purpose was. I agree with everyone else with regards to the cord.

We also have a 30 amp air conditioner plug, but dont know where to plug it in. We thought it was strange that the plug would be inside rhe camper.

I don't understand it's a 30 amp plug so we would have to have some kind of an adapter and are you talking about plugging it into an outlet inside of the camper

Yes

The cord should plug into an outlet right beside the cord on the lower half

We have a 17' towlite. Our air conditioner cord is in the bathroom and our plug is hidden in one of the bathroom cubbies. You. have a 30 amp plug somewhere.

Hmm, we'll have to take a closer look around. When you say plug do you mean outlet? This is our second season with the camper and we haven't seen an outlet for the plug yet. We have a 30amp plug tucked in the wall, but no place to plug it into.

Yes, our outlet for the air contioner cord is in a bathroom cubby. It's was not easy for us to find without really looking - and ours is also difficult to plug it in because of the angle, but it's there.

Thank you everyone for your responses about the AC outlet. We did find it. It was behind the back wall straight down from the AC plug. That's the good news. The bad news is that two days after we found it, we had a blowout on the camper tire on our way home from camping. It blew a hole right through the camper floor, heating duct and an electrical wire. We were hoping to try out the AC when we got home, as there is no electric hookup at the campsite where we stay, but that will have to wait now. Been making repairs all day!!
