This will be our first long trip towing our trailer, and I'm just a little concerned. One of my neighbors told me the I-44 has a lot of pot holes through Oklahoma. It's also a toll road from Oklahoma City until the state line, which also chases my jaw. Has anyone travel I-44 recently? I could swing a little further north and connect with I-35, and go through Kansas, and advoid the tolls, but I'm not sure if the road conditions would be any better.

Any comments/suggestions?

Are you sure you mean I-44 Or mean I-40?

I-35 is always kept in good shape, as are most Kansas Highways! But how are you traveling East? Seems like you're traveling pretty far East. 1st through Texas before you head North through Okla. then Kansas? And, from the State line to Wichita and/or Emporia, I-35 is a Toll Road in Kansas too! From there to KC, it's just a fine Concrete Highway.

If you're going North at Austin or Ft Worth then North, or traveling East on I-40 in New Mexico, and going to St. Louis, I'd stay on I-40 East of OK City to Arkansas to North I-540 to Missouri I-44. BUT, you'll miss Kansas.

Or go North at Dallas and take US 69/75 North to I-40 East, then like above. It's mostly 4- Lane too.

Or, just pay the Toll.

P.S My West Nile really effects my typing toooo!
