Hi all! My husband and I recently purchased a 1983 FunChaser 21D and are currently renovating it. Considering the age, it was in great condition, especially for the price we paid.

We have already started on the reno, including rebuilding the hubs, fixing all the electric on the exterior for the lights, fixing the brakes, re-painting the interior (painting over all the wood paneling to white), installed new countertop, cleaning the cushions (will end up reupholstering eventually), etc. (attached a few photos so far)

A few things we have left is a bit more electric work, changing out the water tank, and miscellaneous interior work.

So, during the course of painting, the sticker panel for the A/C unit (Duo-Therm Rotary XL (model # 55812-042) was also painted over. I am looking to see if someone has a photo of it so I can remake a sticker to go in its place, but I don't know which knob is fan speed and which is temperature. I have tried, with no avail, to find a photo on the internet, but the best I could come up with was the one I attached. If anyone has one of these, can you send me a photo of the bottom of the interior a/c where the knobs are?

Thanks!

welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum. I would highly suggest that you take out all your windows and reseal. Their is a few back posts on how to do this. The butyl tape you would use is far better than the old black sealant. When you get caught up make sure you check and recaulk on the exterior. A good caulk to us is Lexel caulk. It can be found for about $10.00 a tube at ACE hardware or on line. Have fun making it your own.

Great Interior

Hello there! We have a 1989. I will try to get a photo of the AC unit on Saturday and reply with it. Your interior is looking great! We want to one day, also paint the wood paneling and replace the countertops. When you painted the wood paneling, did you have to use a specific type of paint to make sure it actually sticks to the shiny paneling? Or do a double coat?
Also, what material did you replace the countertops with?
Thank you!
Amy

Prior to painting, we used a product called TSP, from the big orange store. Followed directions and painted with regular latex semi gloss paint. We used gloss paint on the cabinets and top rails for easier cleaning. Paint has held up more than three years and truly changed the entire atmosphere inside the trailer.
