No gas to fridge

The fridge works on AC and DC but not on gas. I checked and no. Gas is present at the pilot. All other gas appliances work perfect, I check the orifice and everything is clean just no gas to that side of the valve. I even checked the other side of the valve and gas is present. Not sure what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome! If your fridge is like mine, it has an electronic ignition - no pilot. So, when you turn on the gas to it, do you hear a "snapping sound"? If so, you've got an electronic pilot too.

But, as to why it won't light, I don't know. I know if it doesn't light fairly quickly, it reverts to DC. Maybe your burner is clogged or, you've got a sensor there that is not recognizing a lit condition. If so, it can probably be cleaned.

The flame from a lit gas source is fairly small, so I suspect the orifice could be easily clogged.

Actually it has the push button igniter. It does spark and you can see the flash in the view port. I just wonder why the gas does not reach that area? Is there a device that regulates gas flow to that area? If not perhaps the dial is not changing it to gas?

Look up your make and model # on the internet. Most companies have a trouble shooting chart. If you get lucky they may have an 800# to call for tech help. Keep us posted.

That IS different than mine. Yours sounds like it works the way my barbecue does. Is there any way you can see if the "dial" you mention is doing anything? You mentioned a "valve" in the first post. How is it activated?

SAM gave you good advice. I think following that is your best bet. If anyone here has one that works like yours, I'm sure they'll chime in soon.

does the gas pilot stay burning as it should? thermocouple? clogged orifice in valve body, or the button isn't activating the gas flow when pushed/released . my2 cents. I guess. lol :)
sorry. I hijacked the thread didn't mean to.

Things to check:

Spark probe/gap - gap off or are rust flakes shorting out the gap

Broken insulator around the probe

Thermocoupler - clean, not sooted up aligned properly with pilot light

Insect webs/nests in gas delivery area to burner

Does the pilot light at all? If it does, is it only lit while holding the gas valve down? If it is, the thermocouple is probably bad.

It does not light at all. I tried to light it with a lighter and it seems no. Gas is present. I wiill look on the suggested web site to see what I can find. Thanks to all for the info.
