Rare Door Knob Needed

I accidentally knocked off and demolished the doorknob on my 1972 Hi Lo camper. I have researched and found that the company that made this doorknob is no longer in existence. I have only two options: 1) to do a lot of cutting, patching, and reworking to make a newer doorknob work, or 2) to find someone or someplace that has an older Hi Lo like mine that they want to scrap out and sell the parts. Does anyone know of an RV salvage yard anywhere in this country, or someone they know that is scrapping out an older early-1970's camper where I can get a doorknob with a flat-handled inside handle and a round, locking, regular outside handle with a 2" center assembly? Or can anyone give me any input on how to solve this problem without tearing up my door?

Door lock

I had the same problem on an early 70's HiLo. I found a company in England the still makes a door lock with a 1 3/4 backset. It seems that style is still popular over there. I blocked off the existing lock hole with a medallion I made with the HiLo logo on it. I used a mortise lockset from a heavy duty screen door with a deadbolt. It fit well in the side of the door. The model I used had replaceable tumblers and I had it keyed to my house lock. I can get names and numbers if needed . Best , Steve
