Spice Rack?

I'm sure this has been covered, but what the heck.

I made a spice rack out of two 3M hooks and a rubber band. The band held the spices on the bottom lip against the top section of wall. Well, in transit my band failed, and on raising the top, I had a salt shaker EXPLOSION!

I like using the dead space created by the top section. Has anyone found a secure way to mount spices (or whatever else) to the upper wall?

Montana, I'm sure people have done it, but I get very nervous about things not staying attached in that space and becoming caught, possibly doing serious damage.

I agree with Jack. Freeing stuff stuck between upper and lower halves part way through a raising/lowering scenario can be a nightmare and something that will ruin a trip. keep it simple.

If your into Salt/pepper or other spice when you stop at taco bell, pizza hut, or any other eating place, grab the little packets and throw them in the drawer, we have creamer to hot sauce and everything in between. What we don't use we bring in at the end of summer so it doesn't freeze.

straps to secure things

A bungie cord comes to mind for securing items. I also have some velcro straps. Look what Home Depot or Walmart has to offer along with 3m Hooks.

Walmart has a multi-spice container that is great for camping. It's relatively small and inexpensive. We also have a plastic storage tub with kitchen stuff we take on trips. This way no food stays in the camper when stored and keeps weight down as we transport this in the truck during trips. Fun fun fun!
