Friday evening I took my daughter to her horseback riding lesson. I must have seen 20 RVS on the way to camping. I'm thinking many took the week of vacation and the 4th of july holiday. Got on the website for the nearest State Park and all the 200 some electric sites were taken. Had some nonelectric. I think you have to plan nine months ahead to get the time, site and park you want. I'm more of a last minute planner. Hey the weather is good this weekend lets go camping!! I also think people realize the value of a realitively cheap state park. Are you a planner or a spontaneous camper when it comes to making reservations? I've done both. Relatively(typo.)

We don't have to worry about reservations at our 100 acre campground. Presently we have 3 spaces and one cabin. If we need more spaces we cut out another spot in the woods. No hookups but lots of nice quiet fun. The campground host is a porcupine that lives in the nearby house size boulders. Boondocking at its best. :)

Boondocking

The price is right. Sounds like a lot of quiet fun. I could camp where we park our trailer on a city lot we own. The problem is no electric for my Cpap machine. Not worth the cost of a generator. Can't have a campfire or you go to jail.

Cpap

I agree with the fact that State Parks are seemingly getting well used. Here is SC there are several that you'd better look ahead or you don't get a spot.

Sam, I too have a CPAP machine. Since we dry camp at least once a year and the wife can't sleep unless I use the CPAP, I found that the maker of my CPAP sells a kit to allows the machine to run off of 12V DC. So I take an additional battery (out of my boat) along when we dry camp and hook the CPAP to that. It works very well.

Just thought I'd pass that along in case you would be interested.

God Bless
Papa
