So yesterday evening I was repacking the bearings on my camper. I took the whole hub assembly off and not just the tire first and then the hub. Anywho, I notices the tires were shot. We are leaving tomorrow so I needed to move the camper in a different area of the driveway to be able to hook up to it right away after work; so I put the tires back on.... After moving it, I wanted to take the tires off. Started with the Right side and it came off just fine. Went over to the left side and those bolts wouldnt budge. Tried and tried. Went and bought a torch and a impact.... nothing.... I had an appointment this morning to have the new tires put on so I had no choice but to take the whole hub assembly off again and hope the service garage could get them off. Well they did. They kindly called me to tell me THE LEFT SIDE BOLTS ARE REVERSE THREADS....Now how in the hell was I suppose to know that!!!!! So to end this long embarrassing story, if anyone with an older camper cant get off the left side tire, try going to the right instead of the left :)

Hope this helps someone else out there lol

thread

Ok, we have a 1969 traveler hilo and both sides are right hand thread.
To help out a lot of folks --

What year is your camper with the left hand threads on one side?

She is a 1979 traveler. Im not sure if the previous owner replaced them or not. Considering yours in older Im not sure what to think now..

1979 hilo

Well camper16 it goes like this we sit right down and wait till some other folks move on over and share what they have on their hilo and year.
Anyone else out there got a 1979 hilo with left hand threads on one of their hubs??

Later Tim

mine is a 1981, but another member told me that if the lugs had L stamped on them then they are reverse threaded and you go clockwise to loosen. I imagine the 79 is going to same as mine.
