I purchased this Hi-Lo as a project in really bad shape one year ago from a kid on a farm here in NJ. I knew there was no title but I didn't look for a vin#.
I thought I could register it as homemade BUT NJ has ridiculous rules and I can't register it.
I spent a full year restoring it. I should tell you that it is rebuilt as a solid UNIT. It no longer goes up and down and trailers in the "up" position. I didn't want a box held over my head by thin cables.
The trailer is completely rebuilt, inside and out. New everything including tires and spare.
Im selling it for $3500 to someone who lives in a state where hopefully registering it is no problem. Buyer must be aware of the no title, no vin number situation. I have totally searched the camper for a number and there is none.
There is just way too much to list here so if you feel you're interested you can pm me for more info and pics. I am NOT sure of the actual year it was made except that its somewhere in the mid 50s to 60s. I chose to label it a 1958 because that's the year I was born. PM if you want more info or pics.

The price of my HiLo is 3500
but it doesn't seem to let me
edit the ad. $3500

Wayne, I changed the price up there to $3500, per your post here. I don't know why, but the forum does not let an "ordinary" member edit his/her own post after a certain period of time has passed.

A little info on the trailer. The

selling your treailer.

One time I had a problem and I contacted my legislators office. Within ten minutes I received a call back and the problem was solved. Try this route. Lord knows you pay enough taxes. Write up your problem and see what they can do for you. Enclose pictures and a write up of repairs. Would love for you to be able to keep your labor of love. Hoping this helps.

Thanks but Im retired and just want to
relax, not battle written laws.
NJ requires you to get your trailer
weighed before registering. When you
ask "But how do I drive it to the scsle
without a license plate, they shrugged
their shoulders. I asked a cop who is
a good friend of mine the same question and he said, yes, if you get pulled over on the way it will be impounded and you'll get a ticket for a couple hundred dollars.
I don't have time for that. I retired so I
can camp. I'll just sell it to someone in a sane state and build out my van and go camping. I was supposed to be headed out west to BLM land by now. Lol

Very interested in your trailer. Can it be converted back to drop top down? Don’t know how to private message, call or message 757.279.3827 John

Possible purchase

John,HiLo trailers are designed to drop down for travel. Never tow with it in the up position as it will get damaged. Think of it as a big shoe box when folded down for travel/storage.

Ah yeah. If you tow a factory built one..
This has been rebuilt to s standard camper with studs etc. This camper is way stronger than a factory camper.

We just bought one a few weeks ago, but it looks like you did a beautiful job remodeling it. Too bad that your state makes it so difficult for you to make it legal.

I hope that you are able to sell it to someone in a state that doesn't have so much red tape.

Have you considered paying a tow truck to take it to the scale? Or maybe you have a buddy/relative in the used car business with access to one of the temporary plates thye use for demo drives?
