water leak

we bought a 1995 hi lo and it is in pretty good shape. we ran the ac the first night and had a water leak that came down thru the stove hood, around the overhead light above the sink and in the cabinet above the sink. we checked the inside seal of the ac- it was good, no cracks or visual damage. we found the screws that attach to the top of the ceiling were loose. we tighened them, cleaned the exterior cali hood and we found some pin holes on the roof. and we ran the a/c for about 2 hours and no problem- no more problems -or so we thought, the next day, we had a bad storm, we went inside to ck the trailer out and water was on the stove, dripping from the stove hood, the sink covers, on the floor and inside that same cabinet. so we thought we had a leak on the roof- but the next time it rained-no leak. so could it have come from us running the ac the night before? can little tiny pin holes cause this problem and if so, why didn't it leak the next time it rained? any help you can give us would be appreciated, we are on a fixed income we have already bought a 5 gal can of cool seal to seal the roof however, now we are scaredthat if we seal the roof and its not the roof or something to do with the a/c or something else then we would have to redo the roof, which we really cannot afford. any troubleshooting suggestions or ideas would be helpful. thanks

Did you check the seal around the vent hood outlet outside. Someone else just had a problem like that. The pinholes can be coming from the electrolysis of the roof material and the screw heads beneath it. Those need to be taken care before the Koolseal goes on. There have been a number of posts here addressing the pinholes. Do a search for "pinholes" and there will be a number of threads containing info. Maybe someone will come on with that info without you having to search.

AC leak

There is a lot of back posts about leaking AC units. The problen was not the seal but condensation build up from the coils inside the AC. Some suggestions you will find suggest taking the AC cover off the top and looking to see if drain holes are open. Also check to see if trailer is level or not as this could cause condensation to drip inside. If your AC unit is the low profile as mine is, it seems a common problem in hot humid areas such as Texas where I live produces more condensation then the drip pan can contain. I had to use a rubber material to increase the height of the pan. Now when the AC is run on high fan speed the air flow doesn't pick the water up from the pan and allow it to fall through vent. Hope this helps and again there is a whole series on the topic over the last year if you search for it.

HELP I have a 24ft 50th Aniversity edition, didn't know what to look for and jump and bought her, Now I have rotten walls up front, and to have someone to do repair is very expensive, the previous owner saw eager beavers coming, but we LOVE our HiLo, just need help on where to find the Styrofoam insulator to replace those wet walls HELP

I used Home Depot for the insulation pieces and rigid wall parts also.
Keep the walls intact and use for templates if possible.
Pull all windows, and take pics for re-assembly.

Hilo24, As suggested, pull the windows. If you have the time, I would suggest you pull a couple of window screws and find a source of replacing them with stainless. Go to the search heading above and enter "re-sealing the windows" click enter and about the 9th listing down will be my method. Skim the 1st page for Vulchem 116 (I think) from Home Depot. If some of the screws snap upon removal, just remove them after you get it out by using a needle nosed pliers. Easy to figure that out. Inside is just trim, but the trim holds the window in place. A helper is advised so the window doesn't fall to the ground! Any problems, let us know. We're here to help. I've done 4 Hi Los this way--NO leaks!

Water dammage

You have been given some good advice. Take out the wall paneling as carefuly as you can to use for patterns. Take lots of pictures for reassembly some months later. We did extensive water wall repair in our 1990 25ft. Classic. We purchased the styrofoam at Home Depot. The wall paneling came from ACE hardware (Georgia Pacific) sepecial order. Walmart was our source for the HD liquid nails that was used to put all the layers back together. Take out all your windows and reinstall. Use Lexel caulk around windows (Ace hardware or on line. Start by covering counters and floors with cardboard and duct tape. Try this link to my photo bucket story/repair. 3SAM TLPX's Photo Bucket 4-6-2014 Possibly JR repair in Ohio will have the matching paneling for you. Take your time and you can do this repair. Many have repaired extensive water wall damage. You will need to seperate the top half from the bottom to do your repairs. Cable replacement in my 1998 HiLo 24TD 3-3-2010. This shows how to break the two halves apart and support with 2x4's. Post pictures and we will help you. Other repair stories have been posted. Do a search.

Wow , thank you All great advice. now next question how do I repair the front window outer cover one side damage. the adjustable arm support broke . my wife thought it was a good idea to repair it with liquid nail, NOT

Repairs

If your front window cover is fiber glass then use a fiberglass cloth repair kit. At Walmart or any auto parts store. 2part epoxy comes to mind for the broken hinge. Disclaimer I haven't had to do any of this above mentioned repairs. Just a bondo repair on my back bumper as we bought it pre crunched. I hope other will have advice for you as well.
