Weak Battery or What ?

Recently, when I raise my 2008 22T using the hydraulic motor and/or power jack only using battery power both seem to start out fine but end up struggling somewhat. Surely, something wrong with both motors simultaneously would be an extreme coincidence, right ? When I check the voltage fully charged it reads 12.86. Plugged into AC, they both seem to work ok. I guess my question is, how do I know if my battery is losing it's output capacity for sure?

By the way, does the power jack require greasing internal to the motor or does it just need lubricant on the leg. I ask because I see some sort of blue ? grease that somehow ends up on the leg when used. Any idea where it is coming from?

How long do you wait after charging to check the battery voltage? A fully charged battery after it has set idle for a few hours or overnight should be at least 12.6 volts. If less, it is getting weak. Sometimes the no load voltage will show ok. Have you cleaned and tightened all the battery terminal connections and any other connection in the battery compartment?

I can't help you with the power jack, but I can look in the manual if you like.

You could take the battery to Auto Zone or a like shop and have them do a load test on it. Then you will know for sure. Try putting it on a charger and get a good charge on it first.-

I agree. That is the best way the find out its condition.

All about 12 volt batteries

If should happen not be able sleep some night and want to learn all about 12 volt batteries pull up this website: The 12volt Side of Life (Part 1)
It will either keep you awake or put you to sleep. If you make it through both parts 1 and 2 you will know a whole bunch about batteries and what they like and don't like.

Actually it covers allot of the 12 volt components that you would find in many RVs. It is quite informative.
