While camping in St. Andrews SP, Panama City, Fl. we encountered the Fla rains. It may or may not have been an external leak or just condensation, but DSO discovered a small drip from inside the A/C. Sopping up the tracks holding water stopped the leaking. But was it external or condensation? my thought, why not re-seal the unit. Anyone ever remove the A/C, if so how? Appears to be 4 small diameter but long bolts and wiring. How heavy? One man job? Butyl tape? Of course, I plan to super clean the unit while out, but insides look really good. Would appreciate any pros or cons.

It has been close to 40 years since I removed an AC unit but the 4 bolts is all that holds them on.
I don't recall the seal but you will need 2 people. Put 2 pieces of plywood, 4x4 will be fine, to prevent roof damage while up there.

Cheers,
Rick

found it!

Thanks for the reply. I resorted to looking through the original paperwork received with the camper (thanks Den2) and found the installation instructions. Simply  remove the 3 long bolts and carefully lift straight up. Place 2 2 x 4s at each end, clean both surfaces apply the seal  and re-install. These are INSTALL instructions and only says "vinyl seal" and it will compress about a 1/2". Now that's my quandary! Guess I'll have to look see and decide then about the seal to use. Maybe contact the company and get a direct replacement. :( I'll let you know what I find.

I seem to recall a high density black foam seal with sticky on the roof side (double sided tape).
Don't use the 1 side sticky foam used to seal a camper to pickup bed. It will leak through.

I just did a Google search and those OEM seals are avialable online and should be at your local rv store too. Note the brand and have a go at it.

Thanks again Rick, figured that's the best and the fastest method. I figured I could use butyl tape like the windows, but when the instructions said the seal should compress 1/2", I knew butyl was out. I'm sure it has to be a soft but dense material to prevent water penetration. Don't figure HD would carry anything like it. So it's off to the RV store.:(

Go with the proper seal, you want to do it only once.
