    Battery keeps losing its charge

Default Battetry keeps losing its charge The light is off on the jack. Seems strange this just happened after I put the jack in. I have not had this unit on a long trip until this year. So from at what I understand is that the fridge is not designed to sit for a few hours without any kind of...

    Battery keeps losing its charge

I am on the road enjoying my summer vacation. I was staying at Ashville, NC and all was fine. When I arrived at Mt. Pleasant, SC the battery was dead. I checked the charging fuse in my truck and it had blown. I bought a new battery because I did not know how old the one in it was when I bought...

97 Hi Lo Part out (Tennessee)

Parting out Hi-Lo I am wondering if you would be willing to mail me a stabilizer jack. I do not mind paying for the part or the postage. I would rather have an original jack for my 17T then to go to an RV store and have one that does not match the rest of them. I know this is stretching it a...

What did you do to your HiLo Today?

Jack for the Hi-Lo 17T Thanks Joyce. I have not had to shop for jacks for a Hi-Lo. So I am wondering if they have the same round bottom on the jack? The other RV I owned had a rectangle bottom on it. Oh well, if nothing else I will order it from Ohio. Thanks so much! Mike

What did you do to your HiLo Today?

Stabilizer Jacks When I was in SC last week I forgot to raise one of the front jacks before blissfully pulling out of the campsite and bent the jack. Cannot really use it to stabilize my unit. Need to find a used one to replace the one I have on my 2005 17T. I also level my unit before raising...

Retaining bolts for the front window cover

On my 17T the bolts that hold the front window cover up are difficult to tighten with the wing nuts. You kind of have to hold the bolt with one hand and tighten the wing nut with the other. I would like to replace them before we leave on our 3 week summer vacation to Charleston, SC then off to...

    Trailer cover

You may try Amazon.com: Classic Accessories 79363 PolyPro III Grey Deluxe Class C RV Cover, Fits 23' - 26' RVs: Automotive for a cover. Pretty reasonable. I used them for my cover for my 17T. May be a better deal.

    Pot luck

We usually plan ahead of time. If we think we are going to stop then we look at a campsite that is close to where it is. We know that if the trip is going to take more time than we anticipated then we schedule a site before we get there. So if we were going to the Outer Banks of NC we would plan...

    Winterizing

Totally understand the wind RC. 40 mph is normal everyday in Ok and Texas. Here in MI they think the house is going to blow down. LOL. Hi-Lo is wrapped up for the winter. Went down to the storage place today to tighten up the cover and make sure there was a nose up angle for water drainage when...

    2005 17T Nice unit

Winterizing over :) Just finished winterizing my Hi-Lo. Put a cover on it for the winter. Lubricated all the cables, pulleys and hydraulics. Sounds brand new when it goes up and down. So Nice!! Anyway more pics as promised.

    Cables

Winterizing I winterized my Hi-Lo this weekend. Put antifreeze in the water lines, lubed all of the cables with the Blaster lubricant, WD-40 all of the pulleys. Used the paraffin wax on all of the guides. That puppy hums when it raises and lowers now. Great advice obtained from all!!! Love this...

Remove the battery and lower the unit

Found it!! It is just like using a hydraulic jack. Turn the release valve on the side of the manual pump and low and behold the unit comes down all by itself!! Whoo Hoo I made the first year of winterizing my 17T!! :)

Remove the battery and lower the unit

How do you remove the battery and lower the unit using the manual system? Is there a valve that needs to be turned to set the jack to lower the top?

    2005 17T Nice unit

Yes I bought it in July. I will post more pics when I bring it home to winterize this weekend. I bought it at Caswell RV in Ionia, Mi. They did not keep up the mechanical parts but did take good care of the exterior and interior. I have to grease the Hydraulic rod and the cables. I also need to...

    Tow Ratings

I know my inspection plate inside the drivers door frame gives me the Front axle GRVW and the rear axle GRVW. Combine the two gives you the GRVW for towing and mine max's out at 6000 lbs. Add 2 adults and extra gear generally takes it to about 4500 lbs. and that is on the safe side. I could push...

    Winterizing

I use to be a "Southerner" Wrascal, I lived in Oklahoma for 30 years and the weather was well lets say spring time in the south when you live in the north. But the 100 + degrees in Oklahoma when you climb into your 50's + becomes hard to handle so I moved back home to the North. The South needs...

    Winterizing

Yes I will be taking the battery out and maintaining it at home. Learned a valuable lesson with my other RV. Let it sit one winter and it would not hold a charge when I opened it up the next season. I am using a breathable cover. Poly something it is called. I am wondering about the snow weight...

    Winterizing

Thank you for the information. I kind of understood that the screw jacks are there to keep the trailer from rocking, but also thought it might be a good idea to put them down not to actually jack the trailer up but to keep it from rocking during the winter. I do have jack stands to put under the...
