    Systems Monitor

Anyone have 2901 Classic that can explain the operation of the Systems Monitor. We had an 88 Classic and a 2703 Towlite and they both had test buttons to display the status of each component ie: holding tanks, fresh water, battery, etc., but this 01 doesn't have anything but a test button. How...

    Do you use glass dishes?

Glass dishes Hi Cheryl, we use a combination of both. We have found it best to use plastic where the items are going to be stacked, and could stand the chance of serious sliding during travel. We also try to store heavier items in the lower cabinets. Thing like coffee cups, which have a low...

Looking for a Hi Lo Hey Camping Dog, don't know how new a model you are looking for, but there is a 22', 1992 Classic just listed in "Hi-Lo's for sale" on this forum. The Classic series is the Lincoln of Hi Lo's. Good luck, Richard

    Crack in Rear Shroud

End Cap crack Rich: Fiberglass will adhere to most anything, but the prep work is extremely important. The surface has to be thoroughly cleaned and surface roughened. The biggest problem is the same in welding, usually the weld won't break, but the material on both sides very well may.

    Crack in Rear Shroud

Crack in end cap Jerry, you mentioned using regular duct tape, this probably not a good idea, duct tape doesn't like either water or cold temperature. If aluminum duct tape isn't available you might consider using a good grade of silicone bathtub seal.

    Crack in Rear Shroud

Crack repair Jerry, as far as a temporary repair, you can go to any hardware store (maybe even Wal Mart) and buy a roll of aluminum faced tape. This tape is mainly used for air conditioning duct work. Clean the area thoroughly with alcohol, let it dry and apply a strip of the tape over the...

    Help! Solar generator

Solar generator Not sure why you are looking at a 24 volt setup, but if you are needing 24 volt you will have to go with two batteries in series which will cause you to derate your capacity by about 10%. If you go with two 200 Ah batteries in series, you will be able to handle a load of about...

How do you fill your water tank when you dry camp?

Fresh water Ditto, filling the fresh water tank before you leave home, you never know what the water taste or quality is, especially at some remote camp sites. Be sure you buy a hose that is rated for drinking water to fill your tank, and keep with you. Richard

    Does UVW include the hitch?

cargo capacity Hi Cheryl, the "Load Distribution" portion of your hitch probably won't weigh more than sixty or seventy pounds. The receiver portion of your hitch should be included in the gross weight of your tow vehicle, if the vehicle is factory equipped for towing. With the late model...

    Hi Lo wanted

Hey Jim, thanks so very much for the lead. Looks like almost exactly what we are looking for. Only one major problem, I'm afraid the distance is a little too much, hopefully something very similar will show up a little closer to south Texas. Richard

    annoying saloon doors

Bi-fold doors Hi Chris: I remounted the one of doors on the living area side of the wall so it opens against the wall next to the refrigerator. I then installed a velcro tape piece on the wall with a matching piece on the hinged panel, and a second matching strip between the two door...

    Spider problem

Thanks guys, I have tried all the above and still have the problem. The biggest obstacle to keeping spiders and other insects out is the not so positive seal between the top and bottom sections.

    Hi Lo wanted

Yes thanks a bunch, I have checked into several of these, but they are either out of reach or older than we are looking for. We would really like to get into an 04 or 05 31' Clasic, the Good Lord has one out there somewhere for us.

How do you ant-proof during winter storage?

Ant problem I can sympathize with anyone with ant problems, we had a major problem with wood (carpenter) ants getting into our towlite this year. I used several kinds of bait and bug bombs to no avail. I finally got a box of amdro bait stations which didn't seem to do anything till I popped a...

    Replaced the thermostat.

Digital thermostat Hi guys, the digital thermostat is a great idea, but you need to closely monitor your batteries, these stats are designed to be connected to a 24volt four or five wire system which provides power during normal operation. The batteries should only provide backup power in...

    Spider problem

    Hi lo vs towlite

Towlite vs Classic Comparing Towlite to Classic is like comparing Lincoln to Taurus. We had a 25' 1979 Classic and needed a little more space so we bought an 03, 27' Towlite. We really miss our Classic, more storage, nicer interior, more storage, better bilt, more storage. You get the gist...
