    2007 23C Rebuild

Hi SShankstr, I debated with myself for quite awhile on that very question. At this point I have two rolls, and will overlap the top center run. Since I am installing flexible solar panels both in front and behind the center hole where the A/C would mount, my seam will be under one of the...

    2007 23C Rebuild

Thanks for that review and endorsement r67northern! Your experience along with Signman’s experience and endorsement have helped solidify my decision for the longevity of what I am about to install. And besides all of that, the lady on the box looks happy with her decision as well! :D

    2007 23C Rebuild

Hi Sam, I am going with the recommendation from Rob (Signman) and using Peel N Stick. I was considering a sheet of Filon but was concerned about the radius edge and not being able to bend the Filon over the edge without compromising the integrity of the material. (Plus, laying an 8.5’ x 20’...

    2007 23C Rebuild

Started back to work on my project. The last few days I sanded the seams to smooth out the edges and then I used Bondo to level the seams and fill any seam cracks. A little sanding and I should ready to put the roof on.

    2007 23C Rebuild

The final bay is complete and finished!! I won’t lie, I was getting really concerned, the closer I came to the last bay that I might run out. In fact I was sweating! (It was also hot and humid that day, so that may have been the reason for some of the sweat!) I was scraping the bottom of the...

    2007 23C Rebuild

Completing more ceiling/roof bays I have made progress on completing the ceiling/roof bays as well. I have the front two sections completed as well as the rear bay. Just another bay and a half and I will be ready for a roof and also turn my attention to the inside area.

    2007 23C Rebuild

Wire raceway channels Work has been progressing and I thought I would show you some progress. I am going to the trouble of channeling my electrical wires. The original build they had cut a complete track out any place the wires ran. The white styrofoam insulation in the ceiling had at least a...

Top wont raise and manual pump won’t work either

Lifting the top. If you have 4 farm jacks, place each jack right next to each lift cable (where the lift cable bolts to the top section.) That way you are lifting the same place that the hydraulic system would lift. Do one stroke on the handle at a time on all four jacks to keep the top level...

    Replace wood rot

Hello, go over to the HiLo General Repairs, Modifications, Tips and tricks section if you haven’t already. There are numerous threads on there from doing a quick fix to totally removing the wall for a complete fix. A lot of great information is posted there. https://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f35/

Solar converter trouble shooting, wire gauge

I will let the experts in this area (and forum) give you the right answers to your questions, but if I remember right the wires running from the original roof panel all the way to the fridge area where my controller was located was 12 gauge wire. I believe for most systems 10 gauge is minimum...

    2007 23C Rebuild

The reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. Looking back, I thought I had been missing a lot longer than a month. But even the length of time I was missing flew by! I seemed to have been caught up in helping the DW prepare the garden, spent 10 days at our daughter’s place watching...

    2007 23C Rebuild

I do have a few thoughts, and some are good, some are even valid. First, the bulb part of the seal is just below the top of the 4x4. Maybe 1/8” down, and the stapled flange of the seal is below that. Hopefully the attached picture will help. Second, the wall with the door way cutout, I had my...

    2206T - found delamination

I have two different thoughts on this, or maybe one thought with two different ideas. First thought was that maybe the wall never dried out from the previous repair. The previous owner sealed it up and the plywood never dried. Being seal up with no where for the moisture to go, it will just sit...
