72 Hi-Lo (rusted top cross members)

Hi doilieemilie, what did you end up doing? I'm getting some really nasty brown leaks inside my 72 so I'm getting ready to pull down the ceiling and paneling and may end up remodeling the entire trailer, I think it can be reconfigured to better suit my wants/needs.

I really like this setup and may copy it. I don't have a water heater in mine right now but if I put a real shower in I will have to - let me know how you like your instant unit. I already pulled my fresh water tank as I'm really not a fan of those - they get nasty in my opinion. and mine...

I also had to replace all of the plumbing in mine. I used CPVC and lots of valves so I could isolate anything and everything. Just this summer I got a roof leak that I haven't been able to find yet but being 40 years old, I figure it's time to update all the way around and change the floor...

How far are you going? I see you have a roof ac unit, do you have any roof leaks or does the roof seem to sag any? I'm getting ready to gut my '72 and I haven't decided if I'm going to leave the roof unit or put a vent back and put a window unit on the back.

    Found inside my '72 HiLo

Hey all, I was doing some mods to my camper today and found this scribbled on a plywood divider. Does it mean anything to anybody here?

Has anybody added scissor jacks to their HiLo? I called the local junk yard and he said he'd sell them to me for $10 each, I can pick out the ones I want.

Newbie with vintage 1972 Bon Voyage

PM with my email address sent, thank you! I would be interested in mounting the AC on the floor but I'm concerned about venting outside. Likewise, I'm concerned about cutting a hole above the back window even if it is framed in so I guess I'll just have to figure out which I'm able to live...

    1988 Funmaker for FREE!!!

Outstanding job! If only I had the time, money and energy to do that... but as for a free camper kinda makes me think of the old adage that says there's no such thing as a free puppy - LOL!:)

    What amp is my Hi-Lo

Again, I know this is an old thread but just to be clear, a 50 amp plug has 2 110 volt legs but I have not run into a production camper or motor home yet that uses 220 volts. The two legs are kept separate. This is why you can purchase a 50 amp to 30 amp converter plug and plug your rig into...

    A good Hi-Lo resource

I guess it's not as good of a source now, huh?

    1997 Hi-Lo / No Power

I know this thread is very old but in the interest of helping others who may have a similar problem I'd be interested in hearing what the solution to the problem ended up being. If I was going to work on this problem I would start at the main breaker in the camper and work backwards by checking...

Newbie with vintage 1972 Bon Voyage

Thanks for the input! I think I am going to do some small modifications along the way hopefully without taking away from it's value. I read somewhere that there is bracing already welded in above the rear window for a window A/C unit. Does anybody know if this is true or not and have any...

Newbie with vintage 1972 Bon Voyage

Greetings. Just this week I bought a 72 Bon Voyage off of CraigsList. I was not looking for a vintage camper, just one I could afford that was in good condition. After looking at this a little I have come to the conclusion that this unit is almost factory original. The factory fridge has...
