    Almost Farewell!

I should have indicated in the original post how much I sold my 1901TL for, Jack, but didn't think of it. That thread is closed now, so I will put it here. I was asking $5000, and it sold for $5000. The trailer is in terrific shape and the price was at the low end, so the price was not...

    Almost Farewell!

The trailer is gone ... probably me too! I am not sure I can give up my HiLo Forum habit, but with my trailer gone, my logical reason to be here is gone. I don't participate in forums, as a rule. Probably too new-fangled an idea for me. But as I said previously, you all seem like nice folks...

    2001 HiLo Towlite 19 ft Trailer (Model 1901T). $5,000.00

It is gone! SOLD I just sold the trailer to a very nice guy from Seattle, who I think, will be tuning in to this station as he gets into the eccentricities of the HiLo. I cannot thank you all enough for your kind help during the sale process. The second person to look at it bought it. He...

    2001 HiLo Towlite 19 ft Trailer (Model 1901T). $5,000.00

Posted on the Seattle-area Craigslist I referenced the HiLo Forum, so hopefully some of those people looking will look here for a more detailed understanding of HiLo trailers. I appreciate your reviews and comments about the trailer. Ron

    2001 HiLo Towlite 19 ft Trailer (Model 1901T). $5,000.00

You got my curiosity up! I couldn't wait until after work to measure the trailer, so I stopped to measure on my way back to work. I measured from the end of the rear bumper to the front of the tongue. It is, indeed, 21-feet long. Even if I measure from the back end of the box to the tongue...

    2001 HiLo Towlite 19 ft Trailer (Model 1901T). $5,000.00

We'll darn, Jack, now you've got me curious. I'll measure it tonight after work. It does look like the same length as the other one.

    2001 HiLo Towlite 19 ft Trailer (Model 1901T). $5,000.00

Yep, it's a 19-footer According to the VIN tag, it is a 1901TL, which makes it a 19-footer manufactured in 2001. I have never actually measured it, though, so unless it is mislabeled, I assume it is 19 feet. Thanks for your kind comments about the trailer. It is a goodie!

    Almost Farewell!

Most of you don’t know or remember me, but I feel like I know most of you regular members pretty well. I first bought my 1901T in 2012 and relied on you all to get me up to speed for a too-fast cross-country trip—which went off flawlessly, I might add. Since then, I used the HiLo only once 2...

    2001 HiLo Towlite 19 ft Trailer (Model 1901T). $5,000.00

2001 HiLo Towlite for sale. More information and more pictures! My wife pointed out that I had not taken pictures of the overhead cabinets or sink, stove and refrigerator. So here they are. I also took a picture of the overhead double bunk. The overhead mattress is like new. We never used...

    Another scary screw-up

The same thing happened to my 1901TL before I got it. There is a stick on rubber patch over the hole the battery burned in the cover. It is a reminder to me that I too can do dumb stuff. On my last trip I lowered the top with the propane tank cover laying on the battery compartment lid...

    Which brake controller

Like Rich said. I use the Tekonsha P3, got it on eBay from Mantelli Trailer Sales for a great price and super service. Easy to set up, easy to use. I'm not sure you need the extra bells & whistles of the P3, but I got it for the P2 price ... I used it hard--up & down the Cascade Mts, up &...

Hi Onebel. I put a Prodigy controller (P3) in my truck on the recommendation of RichR. The installation was simple and the function has been faultless, up and down mountain roads and in heavy stop-and-go traffic. Couldn't ask for more. I don't know where you intend to go with your trailer...

Thanks, Rich. I decided to do exactly what you said. I checked to make sure there were no chips or chunks missing from the lining, inspected the drum, and put it all back together. Then I pulled the last wheel and inspected all the parts. Everything is A-OK, in fact, surprisingly good. The...

    Aquired a 1974? Hi-Lo from father in law-need help

It helps to first lift the top a bit to release the cable. Then you pull the cable outward while pushing the switch down.

Brakes? A new kink in the process. When I pulled the right rear hub (after backing off the shoes a few notches), I saw that the primary (rear) shoe liner was cracked the entire length--maybe a fingernail thickness wide. I did a quick check around the web, including the Dexter manual, and saw...

I remembered your previous thread, Jerry, and checked the thickness of the brakes when the hub was off. I didn't measure, but am usually good with dimensions. The shoes are more than 1/8", maybe as much as 1/4". Considering the excellent condition of the innards on the left, I suspect Rich is...

I still have the workaday mentality: go-go-go. The midday sun has a way of cooking that out of you, however. It is only 76 degrees here, but crawling around on concrete with the sun directly overhead has wilted me just a bit, so I decided to take a break and cool down before I continue on my...

I decided to take a break and eat a sandwich, and while I was mulling over the process, came to the same conclusion. It has been too many years since I did this! I just finished a cup of coffee, and am about to head out the door to test our hypothesis. Thanks, Rich. Ron

I'm B-a-a-ck! I feel like I'm in one of the old Arnold Schwarzenegger movies: I'm b-a-a-c-k! After nearly two weeks, I am back to revive this old thread. Life just kept getting in the way of tackling the issues I had with my 1901T after my trip to the Midwest last month. I am still working...

Hi PopRichie-- I think you nailed it! I had come to the same conclusion, but hadn't thought about looking in the brochures. Interestingly, my trailer's VIN tag identifies it as a 1901 TL, but the tag shows it was manufactured 7/00. My interior looks the same as the 2001, different than the...

While I am at it, and since Rick gave me the courage to try adding a picture, I will include a picture of the black deposits on the left rear wheel I mentioned in an earlier post. I still haven't pulled it to look inside, but it doesn't look encouraging. I'm not sure I want to see what is in...

Rock Shield As requested, I have attached some pictures of the rock shield and the bracket holes. The first picture shows the trailer with the rock shield looking pretty normal. The close ups are of the right bracket and the holes in the end cap where the screws ripped out. I had to cut a...
