Getting around 17.5 to 18 mpg pulling my 2208 towlite with a 2007 6.7 cummins with the emissions crap removed. Absolutely no need for a WDH.

Need your advice on Hi Lo Campers 2010

Being tall is the obvious issue, not one I have to deal with. Compared to other camper showers I have used, they are narrower and shorter, due principally to the full plastic enclosure. I'm 5' 9'' and weigh 175. Turning around or bending over to retrieve dropped soap without touching the...

Need your advice on Hi Lo Campers 2010

Just a quick thought, HiLo showers are not for large people. Other than that shortcoming, they are great.

How to transport bicycles on a Hi-Lo ???

I purchased a spare tire mounted rack to take our bikes from Va to Austin, Tx. Many in trip checks were made to assure a secure mounting with no issues. Bikes and rack are somewhere between Monroe, La and east Texas. Won't have one of that type again. I plan on securely welding a receiver to the...

Ford 6.0 and 7.3 powerstroke diesels

I have owned 2 7.3s, both predate my HiLo. However, I can say their fuel mileage was slightly less than my 6.7 de-smoged Cummins pulling similar loads. The 6.7 with a 2208t in tow yielded 17+ mpg @ 70-75mph on a lengthy trip (Austin Tx to Va). Using the SWAG method, I would expect those 7.3s to...

    What the..... (2008 22t)

Finally got the problem fixed. Had to take the HiLo to a local RV dealer, as I gave up trying to solve the problem myself. It took him about 10 minutes to fix the problem. Like I said, I'm no electrician. Problem was "missing reverse polarity fuses". I haven't made the time to open the fuse box...

What did you do to your HiLo Today?

I look at Walmart as a place to use when on the road. Staying there solves many problems. You aren't required to drive on a schedule to get to a reserved campground spot, so you can stop when you are ready. They usually are on or very close to your traveling route. You don't have to waste time...

    Shoe soles and elbows

It has been a great few months for steam locomotives. In addition to a Big Boy, Norfolk and Western 611 was pulled from the Transportation Museum in Roanoke for a 2nd refurbishment and will be pulling excursions in 2015. Also, the last N&W Y6 Mallet is coming home to Roanoke from a museum in St...

    Just curious....

Vannooch, Might your last name be Clampett? :D:D Years ago, friends and I took a trip to Maine and beyond. We welded some uprights on a 6x8ish utility trailer to carry two canoes. There were two Goldwings on the deck, interspaced with various camping supplies, and a towable motorcycle cargo...

    Just curious....

I purchased a 22 foot HiLo (3300lbs empty) this spring as a companion vehicle to my 32 foot toy hauler (7200lbs empty). Toyhauler is for motorcycles and lengthy stays at few(er) and closer locations. HiLo is for longer distances with more frequent stops. Comparison is an apple/orange situation...

    I Won

Evaluate your tow vehicle. Can you use it for on road storage? Does it do a good job towing? What requirements must it meet for non towing applications? A pickup with a cover can hold far more stuff than you will ever need.

    What the..... (2008 22t)

Getting closer. Started with the terminal block on the right side and above the pump motor in the battery box. On the output side of the block are 3 wires, red (main switch), blue (fridge), and black (based on the diagram - converter). Unhooked all three, no lights or gas detector. I didn't...

    What the..... (2008 22t)

Byrdmeister, Where did we lose you; Camper electrical problems, Full moon/crappie, or Peaks? As an FYI, I got out of Richmond a day early and will be able to devote more time to the Hi-Lo tomorrow. Same Bat time. Same Bat channel.

    What the..... (2008 22t)

Jim, I'm close. We are building our retirement home just north of Bedford and in the shadow of the Peaks. Thanks for the offer of the side by side comparison, but I do have a diagram to work from. Often, when working on something I'm not familiar with, I need to step away for awhile and...

    What the..... (2008 22t)

Glad to provide entertainment! The end of the story may take awhile to come to fruition. I keep the Hi-Lo at our retirement spot about 2.5 hours away from the principle residence. Go there most every weekend. This weekend will be a pass through at best, though. It's a full moon and I need...

    What the..... (2008 22t)

Let me summarize: All 12v is live all the time, regardless of the main switch position. If I pull all the leads from the main switch, all 12v is still live. Switch is wired as per wiring diagram. Problem has to be elsewhere.

    What the..... (2008 22t)

In the 2 master switch "off" positions, the 12v stuff works normally. When I get back to the camper next weekend, I'll pull the cover off the fuse box and look closely for any fridge crossover to the other circuits. I did order a waterproof cutoff switch today that I will mount through the...

    What the..... (2008 22t)

GRRRRRRR!!!!!! I completely disconnected all the leads to the master switch today and still had lights. As stated earlier, nothing in the camper that requires electricity beyond factory installed components. Didn't see anything funky in the battery box. Since everything works, I'll be making a...

    What the..... (2008 22t)

I guess my next move is to run continuity across the switch terminals to see exactly how it works. My assumption about how it works is certainly questionable at this point. I would like to get the switch problem resolved before I try to locate the battery drain. It is possible they are related...

    What the..... (2008 22t)

Looks like someone has been playing with the main switch wiring. switch is a 6 terminal switch, as I believe it should be. top position (from back of switch) - white wire to middle position of lift switch, other terminal is blank. middle position - 2 red wires with black tracers both leading...

    What the..... (2008 22t)

Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. Main power switch (3 position switch/ lift enabling switch/etc) upper position - should be power to all except lift. Actual is the same.:D middle position- should be power to refrigerator only. Actually the lights, the heater and water pump work as well. Manual...

    What the..... (2008 22t)

New to the Hi-Lo community, but not to campers. February purchase; all components functional at delivery. Brought it home, stuck it in the barn, and waited for warmer weather to get familiar with it. Started to play with it, but the "new" battery was dead. Figured I left something on, so I put...
