    Hilo behind an EV

I had also reserved a model 3 but have since canceled my order. I had similar questions regarding towing, as well as whether the model 3 could be towed by a motorhome. According to Elon, the model 3 will have an optional tow hitch but capacity is unknown at the present time. I think the 2nd...

    Wanting to ad an awning

My biggest question would be, can the trailer siding support it? If an awning was not originally supplied, the siding may not have the proper blocking underneath to support the attachment. First big wind gust and you may get an unpleasant surprise! I'm assuming this has wood framing?

    battery storage - removable tongue

Or, if you have the manual bypass valve installed and don't mind getting a little exercise, you could raise it with the battery, remove the battery, then lower with the manual valve. In the Spring, raise it manually and reinstall the battery.

    Grand Canyon in Winter

Thanks for the info, Jack. We ended up reserving one of the motel-like rooms right on the rim for a couple of nights. Never been to GC during the winter so should be fun! I'm sure this will be my last trip to South Rim. I haven't been to North Rim yet so that will be next. Do you camp there?

    Grand Canyon in Winter

Hi all, We are thinking of taking a trip to Grand Canyon (South Rim, of course) this winter. Since we are sans a RV at this time, we will be staying in a hotel inside or near the park. I'm looking for hotel recommendations from anyone who has stayed in, or just outside the park. When we went...

    Shower Height - Husband 6'2"?

Jim, we had the same bathroom layout in our 2407T. We found that by collecting the cold water in a bucket while waiting for the hot water to arrive, you could extend the gray water capacity. You can use the water collected to either flush the toilet, or use in the kitchen or outside. When...

    Hello - I'm Bill

Yes, it's amazing how much they can cram into some of these smaller trailers, Jack. One model even has a bunk bed option! But I would probably miss the roominess of the 24 ft. Hi-Lo! :)

    Hello - I'm Bill

If interested in a small fiberglass trailer, you should consider the Casita's. They do make a model that has twin beds to avoid climbing over one another. We almost purchased one but opted for the Hi-Lo instead: http://casitatraveltrailers.com/independence-17/ I believe Bill said he is...

Need help with furnace and fridge

Welcome, Philip! Does the fridge work on electric but not gas? If so, you may have a propane regulator problem, especially if the regulator is the original one. Try replacing it and see what happens.

    I Lowered My Battery Box

Nice work, indeed! As a former non-destructive testing (NDT) inspector, it's obvious you have welded before! :) That was a mod I had considered before selling my trailer as I was interested in replacing the existing two 12V batteries with a couple of Trojan 6V ones. Let us know how it works out...

While plugged in to 30 amp, is my new batt getting charged?

This may have already been mentioned but ensure the lift system is properly lubricated and that no binding is going on. Sounds like you are making progress!

    Switching to LED lights

I did the same bulbs as Les. They fit right into the existing fixtures and make a significant difference in the battery draw! Did most of the interior lights and porch light only.

    AM/FM Radio Options

Hey Motorpig, You may want to contact the folks at Crutchfield and explain to them what you are looking for. I've found them to be very helpful in the past: Crutchfield: Car Stereo, Speakers, Home Theater, Pro Audio, 4k TV Good luck!

While plugged in to 30 amp, is my new batt getting charged?

It should look similar to this. This is a "converter-charger" which converts AC power to DC and also charges your battery.

What's that red, round knob for?

Could be but a picture would help identify it.

    Ready - Just need a Hi-Lo Trailer

Welcome to the forum! If your intent is to park the Hi-Lo in the garage, be aware that the length may not be the limitation if you have a standard 7 ft. opening- height will be. Although the trailer's roof may be low enough, the rooftop AC unit will be higher. The traveling height listed in the...
