I have been doing a good deal of planning for pulling our camper to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Then it was brought to my attention that we had two ways we could do the trip. Well, duh, why didn't I think of that. We could take the truck and camper, or we could take the convertible to do it with the top down. Remember it only took one vote to win. (Treeclimber you can't guess) Guess what won.

DW and I drove up to the Stanislaus National Forest on Monday, hoping to camp out of Sonora, CA at Fraser Flat Campground, but on arrival in the afternoon the campground was filled. We drove farther up the mountain and spent three nights of dry camping in Loop B of the campground. Loop A has vault toilets and Loop B has flush toilets and a dump station is available for all campers. The elevation is 6100 feet and our mornings were rather cold inside the trailer, considering it is mid July. I did notice a few patches of snow on the mountain side, which I had never seen when camping there a number of years ago. This is a large campground and has very spacious sites. For us old folks camping is $10.00 a night with the right card.
