    De-Winterizing

Figured it out...solution and potential problem. When I went to flush out the hot water heater in step 13-15, it must have stirred up and broken loose the calcium deposits in the hot water heater. That sent it through the pipes and clogged up my aerator on the faucet. What I should have...

    De-Winterizing

So I purchased a Hi-Lo that was in winter storage and it's nice enough now for me to bring it out and start using it. I read the manual and figured I would just go in reverse of the winterization procedures but ran into a snag. Here's what I've done so far: 1) Opened & drained the fresh fill...

    WTB: 31’ or 33’ Camper

That's some good advice. It's overwhelming the amount of supplies I need. We'll be sleeping in it for a night next weekend in the driveway. No hookups but to get a sense of what it's like and what it feels like. Ordered X chocks today, grabbed some rubber ground chocks as well. Got a surge...

    WTB: Bunk Assembly

That’s pretty much the plan. If we can get the bunk then it saves us from having to make up too many surfaces. We can leave the bunk down, dinette in bed mode and put a table in front of the tip out couch.

    WTB: Bunk Assembly

I would but…as you taught me, tongue weight! The bunk is going to hold (2) small children who weigh less than 100lbs combined. So it doesn’t need to be that strong. Just strong enough that DIFUS doesn’t get called.

    WTB: Bunk Assembly

Thanks Jack! I pulled the trigger on a 25c w/o a bunk so just need to get one installed and it will be the perfect trailer for us.

I did it... I jumped head first into a pool without checking the depth or taking the time to learn how to swim... I just pulled the trigger on a 25c and made a KoA reservation. I've got 45 days to learn as much as possible so I don't mess this up lol.

    WTB: Bunk Assembly

As per the title, looking for the bunk bed hardware for the Hi-Lo. I've been looking for a Hi-Lo with a bunk but it seems many either don't have them, or have removed them. So now I'm looking for the hardware so that I can consider some of the ones that don't have the bunk.

    Efficiency Test - When?

I have an email out to them, so hopefully they respond so I can geek out a little. So based on your background what are your thoughts on the aerodynamics of the towlites vs the classics? The classic have the rounded caps and lower skirts but are generally taller and wider. Also, does...

    Efficiency Test - When?

Yea, I saw as early as the 60s they started quoting as much as 5mpg. Then in the 70s they had the percentages. And 200s started citing the study with the same numbers. I was more looking for the actual test to see what they tested, methods, etc. just interested in reading the text than just the...

    WTB: 2001+ 23'-25' Hi Lo

I was originally looking for a 31-33 but a couple of good folks steered me away from that. I'm now looking for a smaller 2001+ 23'-25' Open to either a towlite or a classic. The two main options we're looking for are 1) Expand-a-room 2) Swing down Bunk If anyone is looking to sell one, I’m...

    Efficiency Test - When?

I've been browsing all of the brochures and everyone I've come across says it's 77% more efficient than the Fleetwood Terry and it was done by the transportation research center of Ohio. I can't seem to find any information on that test though, or when it was performed. Does anyone happen to know?

    WTB: 31’ or 33’ Camper

Oh, definitely with a WDH. The manual specifically states the tow limit is 11,000 with a WDH and only 5,000 w/o one. So w/o one I would actually be even further limited. I did get another data point yesterday on the truck forums. It looks like they threw the truck with a 25ft Airstream...

    WTB: 31’ or 33’ Camper

Ok so I didn't watch ANY of the videos. So that was smart of me. I rolled up in between what felt like 50 semi's. Kept my distance in case any of them were trying to back into a spot and just followed the floor arrows that said "SCALE". There were two Semis in front of me and they took...

Some truckers are probably going to be pissed off at me anyway while I try to figure out what to do! Are CAT scales the only place to get weighed? I see weigh station on they interstates by me, can I pull into one of those as well?

    WTB: 31’ or 33’ Camper

I have a weigh safe tow ball that I use to monitor my weights. I've never verified it but it gives me some comfort when when I would tow, but those were with small loads of typically 3000lbs or so.

    WTB: 31’ or 33’ Camper

That I see all the time and I'm not looking to be one. I found a CAT scale via the locator so I'll see if I can get weighed. Do I just roll up and ask nicely?

    WTB: 31’ or 33’ Camper

I’m not sure how it’s calculated or why the difference is so big, but here’s the plate I’m looking at. I have to see what’s the largest I can pull now that will have 3 sleeping surfaces.

Hi Debbie Downer! I'm an Enthusiastic Eddie, which can sometimes cause issues of the head first variety. So I appreciate the feedback. I'd rather flush it out here than on the side of the road. According to the door jamb: GAWR Front is 4134lb GAWR Rear is 4960lb Edit: Doesn’t look like...

I'll be right on that border of a 1/2 to 3/4 ton. GVWR: 8532lbs 900 ft/lb Torque Tow Rating: 11,000lbs Payload is a little low around 1600lbs so I'll need to go on a diet before I go on a trip. Thank you for guiding me to the checklist!

Thank you! I reached out to them, as well as a 29' one I saw in the area. I didn't realize the 29' was less than a foot shorter and still had 3 sleeping surfaces. It's a bit far but if I can get enough details and comfortable with it then I can try to figure it out.
