    Brand of Antifreeze

For those of you who winterize with antifreeze, what brand do you use and recommend? I see that WallyWorld has SuperTech super cheap, and Prestone at a premium. Does the brand of antifreeze make much difference? Should I spend a few more bucks for the pink stuff? Thx, Kevin

Do I really need RV Antifreeze?

Just got done draining my camper's water lines and it occurred to me that what if I just left the low point, water heater and fresh water tank, and faucets, open? No water in the system, nothing to freeze, right? I read that I can use windshield washer fluid in the drains, gray and black tanks...

    RV Antifreeze Ingredients

I just bought a gallon of RV antifreeze that lists the 1st ingredient as Ethyl Alcohol !!! Geez, I wonder when the winos of the world will figure this 1 out. Seriously, I would prefer to put ethyl alcohol in my camper lines rather than the common propylene glycol (the 2nd...

    Antifreeze

Does anyone know how to put RV antifreeze into a Georgetown VE (specifically, a 280DS, but the other models should be similar)?

Water Heater Anode Antifreeze White Flakes

Last Fall, I winterized my trailer per Flagstaff's instructions in my Owners Manual. When I removed the drain plug from my water heater (made by Surburban) to drain the heater tank, I noticed a small amount of erosion on the anode surface - nothing to get excited about. I replaced the plug and...

    Is antifreeze really necessary?

I live in the south carolina so our winters are not harsh so all I ever do is drain all the water and leave the faucets open, I've been following this procedure for years and have had no problems. I now have a new 5th wheel and all this talk about running anitfreeze thru the water systems has...

    Siphon hose for antifreeze

Sadly, I started winterizing our Wildwood 17EXL for the winter. I have drained and bypassed the water heater, blown out all the water lines including toilet and drained water fromthe low point drains. I was surprised how much water came out with the compressed air even after draining the lines...

    Color of your antifreeze

I'm stocking up on some emergency fluids to keep on hand while tooling down the road. I found a sticker that listed the type of antifreeze used in my Berkshire as it came from the factory. It's Alliance SCA Heavy Duty Coolant. I found a website that say the fluid is either pink or purple. Mine...

Can't get the pump to draw antifreeze

Ok, maybe I am not Einstein, but when I winterized our 'late pup' I had no problem getting the very noisy pump to pick up the antifreeze. Just finished the install of the winterization kit on the new Wildwood 26bhxl, but I can not get it to pic up the antifreeze. Checked all the fitings...

    Air or Antifreeze?

Hi, I am wondering what the consensus is on just blowing out your water lines or pumping Antifreeze thru them? I realize out of 10 responses, I'll get 5 for each... I've always pumped antifreeze, but this year, I blew the lines out for now since I will be using it in a few weeks and it's been...
