Please excuse my ignorance i am a band new TT owner and am prepping for my maiden voyage. I think i have the basic covered but one thing came to my mind.
What if i need to change a tire due to a flat. There is not a lot of information available for a single axle rig. And my manual does...
Looking for something that likely doesn't exist.
Clipper 17 FQ only has one axle. I'm looking for a set of wedge chocks on a screw that tightens under the wheel, one wedge on each side. Similar to a bar clamp.
I've never seen one, but simply kicking the chocks under the wheels don't seem to...
Just wanted to share my story and I'll keep it quick. Long story short, blew a tire back in June on our way home from Disney. Repairs were made to camper and new Maxxis sneakers for the RV (tracer 3200bht). Fast forward to now. Made two trips, Hershey and Luray VA. I normally feel my tires...
I have read much about how trailers come equipped with light-duty Class "D" tires, and how these light-duty tires should be replaced with Class "E" heavy-duty tires. Well, when one of my fairly new tires came apart, I learned from the tire dealer that the (original) tires on my nearly-new...
Forest River Rockwood 8280WS 5th wheel
Dexter Torflex Axle lift kit
After upgrading my tow vehicle to a new 2500 HD GMC 4 X 4, the 5th wheel towed nose high. It also reduced the clear space between the top of the tailgate and the underside of the 5th wheel deck. This made the decision to add...
Had an AL-KO axle (3500#) replaced at CW. The replacement is a Dexter easy lube. To make a long story short, the grease caps will not stay on while traveling. One came off and busted the wheel cover (hub cap).
Anyone else having this problem?
Can backing a Mini Lite (dual axle Torflex) SLOWLY over a 3 inch curb cause a Dexter Torflex axle to bend? That seems to be what happened to my 2016 Mini Lite 2304 while backing into my driveway. The left rear axle wheel seems fine, but the left front has over an inch of negative camber. This...
Does anyone have this no signal problem from cable hookup? Antenna works fine. It's picking up a few channels in camp ground but cable is always no signal. Any ideas where to start? I'm thinking it may disconnect some where between outside wall and tv?
Thanks
Looking for some help with this situation. Tires worn to cord on inner edge, Rear axle only. Lipperts axles, which seem to have a problem; being bent froth factory.
This is ruining our plans to use the TT for my sons MTB season. I don't want to put bad quality back on the trailer if it is a...
Hello. We just picked up our 1st ever Travel Trailer yesterday from a dealer (Forest River Grey Wolf 24RK). Pulling away from the dealer the ride seemed smooth, no noises. We went home & parked it for 2 days while we loaded it. Well today we went to take the unit to the place we're storing...
I ran across a formula for calculating the amount of weight a trailer tongue puts on the rear axle and takes off the front axle. The formula assumes no weight distribution. I was wondering if anyone knows how accurate the formula is. It could be checked using cat scales but it would take a...
I know, it's a stupid question. But, I'm man enough to ask it anyway. Getting ready to hit the road with our 2013 Wildcat and thought I would add some grease to the axles.
What do I use the choices out there are staggering, but what is the appropriate grease?
Thanks
I decided to do the axle flip and change to 205/75r15 tires. The axle flip took me about 2 hrs and was not hard. I used the Dexter K71-384-00 kit that I purchased on Amazon for about $44. After the installation was complete I had the spring perches welded. I changed to15 inch wheels and...
How do I measure the actual gross axle weights of my 2016 F150 once my trailer is hitched up? I know that the front GAWR is 3,525 and the rear GAWR is 3,800 but not sure if I am exceeding the limits. I would be towing a Rockwood 2702 ws. Thank you.
I had a flat tire on my 2016 Rockwood TT due to turning too tight into a parking lot and running over a sharp curb that tore the tire on the passenger side. I was going 1-2 mph. The car folks put on the spare then we went to their shop and they put on a new tire. Now 3-4,000 miles later we have...
My dad is purchasing a 2000 MY camper that is in very good condition for it's age. It's not a Forest River, but I get better responses here than other sites, and I don't think brand will matter. It's a Jayco Eagle 166FBS (front bed slide). Dry weight is 6100. GVWR is 8500. I'm betting he'll...
We have a 2013 Rockwood 8381 ss that we purchased used this spring. The dealer put 5 new tires on it - load rated C.
We hit a pothole on a recent trip and it destroyed the rear passenger tire.
We have tire replacement insurance that will replace at no cost.
Our tire man says he would go with 10...
So, before I begin...yes, I should have checked when I bought the trailer, but I assumed I was getting what was on the invoice. Plus, we didn't get to camp much last year, so I didn't do any maintenance on the axles (still low mileage).
Anyway, last week I had the annual safety inspection on...
I recently read about problems with lippert axles. One where they caught fire and another where wheels fell off due to bad welds. I have lipperts on my trailer and am considering changing them to Dexter's. Are these common problems with these axles? I try to be proactive about my trailer but...
We have a bad grease seal that has smoked the brake shoes on our new trailer. In lieu of sitting out all of August waiting for the dealer to get this fixed I plan to do the repair myself. I'm not sure the axle and brake manufacturer (possibly Lippert) so needing advice on sources and part...
Ever since our 2011 390BH had the brakes/bags/tires upgraded in early May of this year, we now have clunking noises as we walk around the RV while camped (jacks down, slides out, etc.) We've been to numerous campgrounds and the clunking noise always occurs. It's very much like a house that has...
