I just picked up our 2020 cedar Creek 29rw and I have a question about the auto transfer from battery to shore power on the electric only refrigerator. It seems ok on the inverter battery use but doesn't switch to 110 volt unless I unplug the black plug see pic and leave the inverter on? What am...
Just upgraded to a hard-side with a big slide. This is my first power slide.
So I have a dumb question. If I'm hooked up to a generator (or shore power) or a running TV, and if I deploy the slide, does the 12 volt power draw to run the slide:
a) come from the converter (when connected to...
We store our new to us fr3 in a pole barn.
What are pros and cons of leaving it plugged in during storage?
If leaving it plugged in should we leave the coach power 12v switched on?
Will this keep the main battery charged?
Will it shorten the life of the inverter / converter
Thanks
Can anyone tell me why one of the breakers or the EMS did not shut off the power before such a catastrophic melt down of the connector occured.
Cord end note "that is the male connector welded to the female end of the cable"
Coach plug-in prior to removal for repair

My dh and I are new to RVing. We have a 2019 Forest River Sandpiper 5th wheel. When we are at a site for a week and hooked up to shore power he likes to turn off the batteries and inverter. Says it's not good for batteries to be continuously charging. Trouble is when we go to hook up to pull...
I store my Forester at a public lot outside...easy access and $275 a month less than a nice inside storage alternative and electricity. I have an opportunity to invest about $300 to have a 30amp and 110 service put on a pole right by my unit that I could use.
So for the many of you who keep...
I am newbie.
When there is no shore power what would not run?
I just bought a used 2015 Coachmen’s 16 ft clipper
With no shore power:
No a/c fan. Nor bathroom fan
No power from all AC power outlets...therefore no TV watching?
Why I have a 24V battery hooked up?
Is that correct?
Thank you...
We are storing our 2019 Flagstaff Micro-Lite 25RKS and wanted to connect to a 15 amp circuit (because no 30 is available at the storage site) to provide a trickle charge to the battery. When I plugged it in I noticed that the receptacle arced with the chord. I tried another small appliance in...
Just replaced both coach batteries as they were not getting or holding a charge and lost everything in the freezer even though it was plugged in to shore power and the microwave light was still on.
When I start the engine on the MBZ 3500 everything in the coach works, lights, step, generator...
My 2018 shamrock has been great. But a couple trips ago awning would only work on shore power, not 12v. Slide works on 12v. Battery tests out fine. But if i forget awning before i unplug shore power, have to plug back in to retract and go home. Any idea what would cause that ? I had a MH for...
Wonder if anyone has installed a shorepower monitor on there rv! I am looking at adding one to mine that will start generator and cut off when power comes back on , would work like it was on your home! The one I am looking at is by rv automation.
My tongue jack works on batteries without being hooked up to shore power. My lights inside and leveling jacks do not work unless hooked to shore power. Batteries show fully charged and batteries are not turned off. Any ideas?
I'm "newbie" to RV'ing. Started with 19 foot E-Pro in 2018. My power jack will work ONLY when drawing power from tow vehicle.
Shouldn't "shore" power be converted automatically to 12 volt affording energy to power hitch?
Granted it's best not to have "shore" power hook-up and tow vehicle...
I have a Forester 2015 2801QS with a PD9260C converter. Does anyone know how this charges the chassis battery on shore power?
When I first got it I thought both the house and chassis Batteries were kept at the same charging voltage (13.6 or higher). I ad all of the batteries replaced. Checking...
Here lately when I plug my 2018 R Pod 180 into shore power at home or at camp sites I find a few or almost all c/b's popped. I reset them, and all is good till we break camp and plug in again somewhere else. Was wondering if this is an early sign of power supply failure, c/b's weak, or...
2015 Crusader
we were plugged in to the campground over the weekend, got ready to leave, and the battery went dead while retracting the slides. This was a brand new battery.
I thought the slides operated off shore power while plugged in? am I wrong?
We put jumper cables on the battery and got...
New to the forum and could use some help. We just purchased a 2019 micro lite and are having some concerns.
When we are just using the battery most everything appears to work (awning, slide, lights, etc). When we hook up to shore power the microwave works and outside fridge but no lights ,slide...
I am storing my 2014 Sunseeker 2860 beside my house.
I have a 120v outlet on the house and plugged my RV in to run a dehumidifier to reduce mold.
All of a sudden my batteries were dead and they were less than 1 year old.
Should the Battery switch by the stairs be ON or OFF in this situation? I...
I plugged in my Grey Wolf into shore power at my house, and about 10 minutes later the circuit breaker popped, but it was my home's circuit breaker, not a circuit breaker in the camper.
What's the best way to track this down? Should I turn off all the breakers in the camper then wait 10 minutes...
New Forester 2020 2861ds, went away for a weekend to try out our new toy. I admit right up front we are newbies to camping/RVing world. We had the camper plugged in all week leading up to the trip, running the refrigerator and anything else we needed on shore power and one solar panel on the...
Is there a "proper" or "preferred" procedure when switching from the generator to shore power? I've never given it much thought over the past 6 years.
From day one, I have arrived at the campsite, shut down the AC units and the residential 'fridge, turned off the generator, plugged into...
Finally got to plug my camper into shore power to start to check things out. First thing I noticed is that the converter is very loud. Doesn't sound like a fan noise, more like a transformer noise. BUT when I turn on a 12 V appliance (light) the sound goes away.
The converter is a...
Read a lot of posts in here and subsequently learning a lot. However, this is a new one for us.
Came back to our 19 Dynamax Isata 5 to find front A/C unit on but not operating. Rear A/C unit still running. We are hooked up to 50 amp shore. Multiplex display for line-in claimed we had 50...
