110 lower part of 1998 HiLo not working

There is probably a simple solution, but, while the A/C and fans in the top half of our trailer work, the lower half (plug ins, refrigerator, etc.) do not. We have checked fuses and breakers. What are we missing? Oh yes, it IS plugged in!!!

Check the GFI outlets to make sure they are not "off". Both test buttons should be pushed in. A GFI outlet can kill the other outlets down stream. Hope this helps.

That did it!!!! Of course, I had to Google CFI, but the minute I saw a pix, I scatted out to the HiLo - both CFIs were off - I punched them on, off and then back on and PRESTO! Electricity. Guess that 10" of rain in a few days told them to turn off. Now, when my hubby comes in, I can tell him that I fixed the electrical problem. HaHaHa!

Those GFI breakers are very sensitive and will trip easily, sometimes just from unplugging something. They DO keep you from being shocked though, so I suppose they're worth the bother they introduce.

Check the outside outlet on your unit. Sometimes the tires throw up water on the backside of the outlet causing this outlet to throw the GFI's inside. There should be a cover on the backside of the outlet. Make sure it is secure and water proof. Happy camping!

You can add them on any circuit that has a ground wire. It only takes one for each circuit you want to protect. They are good for areas that can be "wet", such as bathrooms, kitchens and outside outlets. They're not too expensive and are available at Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, etc.

Thanks everyone. We've already checked these out at Home Depot - plan to install them in 3 bathrooms and kitchen. With the amount of rain we've been having (and are getting flooded again), may want to put them throught the entire ark (I mean house!).

If you install a GFCI, place it at the first outlet in the circuit and it will protect all outlets in the rest of the circuit. You want to make sure you connect the power side wires and load side wires correctly on the terminals.
