If you have a 2010 or 2011 Hi-Lo you may want to keep an eye on the seal material on the front window. These Lexan windows have a lot of flex since they are not made of rigid material, so the sealant doesn't stick well to it. Our window started pulling up and the sealing material cracked away from the Lexan. Water was seeping in around it and running down inside. There are only four small bolts and the sealant material behind and outside that holds it in place. The factory did not do a very exemplary job of sealing around the outside.

I decided to add a couple more screws on either side at the corners in order to keep the Lexan from lifting. I used 1/8" x 1/2" stainless steel metal screws. I made pilot holes through the Lexan slightly larger than the screw diameter to allow for thermal movement so as to not put stress on the Lexan, and did not tighten down the screws. The backup framing is very thin so that's why such short screws. I then applied Lexel Super-Elastic Sealant after masking around both the window and frame. After a thorough cleaning and an alcohol wipe, it took about two tubes of sealant and a soapy finger to smooth out the very wide strip I had to lay in to bridge the gap between the Lexan and the window opening. Lexel is very gooey but it seems to stick like everything. Lexel is available at hardware stores.

Time will tell how well it works.

Thank You.

We are just starting to deal with our front window on our 2310. Definitely, "a horse of a different color"! Definitely keep us updated on how your "fix" goes.

I think this trailer spent a lot of time not being used and in the closed position but under cover. The front window area on the inside has condensation issues that we are dealing with, trim pulled loose/water marks.

Again, thanks!:)

Front window issues

I really thing HiLo took a short cut where their were none in changing the design and material in the front window on newer models. Nothing like tried and true!!

We wish we would have tracked down a new 2209T instead. They were out there but we didn't want to slight my dealer friend at the time.

We have a 2310, front window is doing the same as RichR front window. Also I am having a heck of a time trying to keep it clean! Thanks Rich, I will try your fix on sealing the front window.

The trailer is presently stored away. If I get a chance to pay it a visit I will snap a couple shots.

Note: I didn't mention above that I used painters tape to contain my smeary caulking job.
