I am interested in buying a 2810H online but have never seen a HILO in person.
Is there anyone in this thread in California willing to show me their HILO?

Thanks

I've had two hilo s over the past 16 years I or the site could answer any questions you may have
I've also done a lot of mods on my trailer

Thank you Campthewest. I just bought a 28H. Bought it online.
I am pretty sure I will need a lot of advice for the mods. Looking forward to meeting some other owners at the rally.

Congrats on your new trailer
The rally is great fun went to it about 5 years ago in Colorado
Most of my mods where driven by the dry camping we do or just to improve the trailer
Most of the time we camp without electricial hook ups
Sorry to say we make it this year because of family get together s

Welcome to the forum.

Many wonder HiLo owners are on this forum. Be sure to watch the operational videos. We are here to answer any questions you may have. Wonderful

Could you sure some of the mods you did to your trailer? I am interested in dry camping as well.

thanks

do you attend the antique tractor show at the international Agri center in Tulare next month?

We bought a 2307C just over a year ago, aren't too far from you (Sacramento area). We also do a fair amount of dry camping, generally in state & county park campgrounds (usually quite a bit cheaper - and often quieter - than KOA's and other commercial RV parks with full hookups).

We found that even after adding a 2nd battery, we use more power than a solar panel can recharge (even with much of the interior lighting converted to LED's) so we bought a Honda 2200 watt generator last fall (and may get a 2nd companion unit if we find we really miss being able to use the a/c this summer).

Even with just two of us in the trailer, we find the gray tank fills up in about 2-3 days - since we tend to spend at least 3-4 days in one place, we picked up a 32 gallon Barker 4 wheel portable waste tank - lets us empty the holding tanks & tow the portable tank to the dump station without moving the trailer. https://www.amazon.com/Barker-27844-4-Wheeler-Tote-Tank/dp/B000BGM89Y).

We also bought a small "table-top" stainless steel propane bbq (small enough to store under one of the dinette seats) so we don't have to rely on campground bbq grills (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Nexgrill-2...le-Top-Grill-in-Stainless-Steel-/163175844083). Didn't want to have to carry a separate full size propane tank, so we feed it from a pair of 1 lb bottles in a Coleman Gemini carrier (https://www.coleman.com/gemini-propane-carrier/R9708-A30C.html).

And one unqualified recommendation - a couple of years ago when we were still camping out of a Coleman pop-up, we struggled endlessly using boards and blocks to level the trailer before discovering Anderson Camper Levelers (
). These things are without a doubt the best single trailer purchase I have EVER made.

After very much thought, we have decided the time has come to sell our trusty 2005 27T. Our trips tend to be a month or two and a long days drive is taking a toll on our bodies. Yes, we could drive fewer hours each day but then our trips would turn into three month trips. We have made several modifications to the interior and I will post pictures of the modifications and any additional pictures the site will allow. In August 2017 we did add a Fan-tastic fan in the kitchen but I did not take a picture of the fan. We replaced the water heater in 2016 and new tires June 2017.
We are listing the trailer for $8500.00 which will include some accessories. I can be contacted at gdkinzie@gmail.com. Sorry if this a duplicate post, but I can't find the post I made around 1 PM, PDST.
