Awning jammed

Our awning has jammed, thankfully up. The strap has rolled up in it. Everything I've read says to get someone on each side and gently pull it down. The back side moves but the front won't budge. Any ideas on what to do?

The side bar is ust a bit lower than where it goes into the camper. Brute force finally moved it. Success
