My 2310H is bending where the cable attaches into the top of the camper on the front corner entry side. this causing that corner to drop a little. Do not think tightening the cable alone is a good fix. Need to do something to fixed the surface where the cable connects to the top. Any ideas or suggestions.

Hi, city Bear. Yes, I had this happen to my trailer as have others. It's caused, I think, by tryinng to raise the top too much. You just want the bulb seall on the top to MEET, not press into, the lip on the lower half.

My repair is shown in this thread, https://www.hilotrailerforum.com/f17/lower-rail-upper-half-cable-attach-question-3571/, Post #16

I discuss the repair in posts prior to the one where I show it in pictures.

Thanks for the link Jack and Janet.

Looks to me that someone before me attempted this repair.

The bulb seal is touching the bottom of the contact rail on the bad corner, and maybe to high all around the trailer elsewhere. suspect they all may need to be lowered some.

Will use a farm jack to hold up the bad corner while I do the repair. Need to find angle iron, some epoxy putty somewhere. Maybe the local farm store , if they will let me in the store.

Again thanks

The epoxy putty is available at hardware stores like ACE. I think I may have found the aluminum there too.

I held the top up with a 2x4 cut to fit between the top and the "outrigger" closest to the point being repaired. Actually, now that I think of it, I lowered the top onto 4-2x4s to put slack in all the cables. This also kept the top level during the whole process. I use the same 2x4s to put slack in the cables for adjustment.

You COULD do it with the top fully down, if you don't mind bending over.
