Center lights not working

The lights in the center of my camper including the oven hood fan do not work. The fuse is fine. What should I do? I also reset the breakers. Please help

Pop the false bottoms from the inside of the surrounding cabinets. That is where a lot of the 12v wires are run. Check for loose connections and splices (wire nuts). If that doesn’t work, drop the exhaust hood over the stove. A few screws holds it up. There are wires and connections underneath it also. Happy hunting.........

Just a guess.

Remove the fuses..either reposition or replace. Simplist thing to do.

And, you MAY have rodent damage to that circuit. I did to my left rear stop/turn light. Check the wires for continuity with a multi-meter.

I just wrote a reply and it said I could not post because I was not logged in and I was. Am sitting in San Luis Pass on the Gulf using their not so speedy wi-fi. Anyway, to cut it short. I had same problem with same circuit on my 1990. FAULTY GROUND. Take a piece of white wire and at any point on the circuit find the white ground wire, splice into it and ground it with a screw into one of the metal frames inside the wall. Do this inside the cabinets somewhere. More than one ground wire is fine....no problem. 12 volt system, so white wire is your ground wire.

I had the same problem on our 89 Funchaser when we bought it. I ran a separate wire from the battery into the camper to confirm if I was looking for a bad ground or hot lead. Found that it was the hot lead, and it turned out to be a broken (yellow) lead in the upper half of the shell. At least on our camper, the lead in question actually came from the rear of the camper and turned up to the range hood right behind the stove. The wire was broken where it made the turn "up". Good luck--these things are a pain to find.

We seem to have the same problem on our 89 Voyager with a dead yellow wire that comes out of the wall behind the range hood. How did you trace the wire since it’s buried in the wall?

You can't actually "trace" the wire, but if you pull down the covering of the wire bundle that goes to the upper half, you should see where any yellow wires are joined to the bottom half with wire nuts. I think you might find two of them and one of those wires would be the one to your range hood area. You could test for continuity with a meter at the range hood end and the wire nut end. If the wire there is good, you know the break is in the lower half, which is easier to get to. Just take off panels, pull up the couch, etc, to examine that wire run. You'll also be able to test for continuity in the lower section without opening anything. If you find it's an open circuit, just run a new wire.

Sorry, Beachbum, I'm probably not going to be super-helpful. Our lower beam was completely rotted out, so the wires were exposed. I gave the yellow wire a small tug--not enough to damage it--and it popped loose. I hope yours is not in similar condition.

beachbum, on my 1984 funchaser, the upper lights was a yellow wire from the front coiled cord down the left side(drivers)along the bottom of the top section to the area behind the drivers side taillights then it went up to the inside lights in the top. Mine was broken behind the left taillight. now i have no power on the black wire that feeds the fans in the top of the camper. i am going to trace it and see where it is broken.
