Clearing Propane Lines

I just got a 1968 Snyder Hilo and it has a Carlson floor furnace in it. I'd like to remove it but not sure what the process is (I know nothing about furnaces or campers).

I imagine I need to let out whatever propane is in the lines before I disconnect it. Does this just involve turning off the propane or do I need to hold down the start button on the furnace for a bit or something?

Sorry for the complete newbie question... just trying to figure things out!

Close the propane tank valve and remove the gas line to the furnace.
There is no button you need to push to purge.

Remove furnace at your leisure.

Kadin, again, welcome to the forum. To remove any gas supplied unit, first turn off the tank, I'd light a stove burner and let it burn out, then turn off the stove. Without smoking (!), loosen the gas supply line at the furnace and complete removal of the furnace. You MUST cap that line correctly BEFORE you use any other gas item! As you can imagine, if you don't, you'll just vent the propane tank to the air if you open the tank valve. And if in the vicinity of a flame, nasty things can happen. You'll be fine.

Removing furnice

Treeclimber gave you some good solid advice. It is never a good idea to keep a furnice that is that old. It could kill you with c02.
