I have a 1990 Fun Lite. It is currently stuck in the up position.
the pump is labeled:
hi Lo trailer company
serial # 585
date code LC
model # DB-00114E

See the attachment for pic of pump. Don't know how to put pic here.

Where is the manual relief valve to lower the unit ? There is nothing that
moves on what I think is the relief valve

That valve that you think is the relief is actually the lowering valve. It is an electric solenoid valve and also that lever sticking out the right side is the manual lowering activator. I helped an owner whose top would not lower electrically to get it down manually and That lever had not been moved in so long it was stuck. It took a lot of pressure to get it to move. If I remember correctly it moved front to rear not up and down as I thought it should. For your info the relief valve is inside the pump and opens when the top reaches its up limit to stop the top from raising any further. I have a newer pump on my HiLo that also has the manual lifting pump and when I bought the HiLo that pump was stuck and I could not move it with the jack handle by hand so had to give the handle a light rap with a hammer. I activate that pump now a couple of times a year to keep the o-rings lubricated.

Thank you ! It does move front of trailer towards the rear. Selinoid is bad ....have to figure out how to get it off

RusL; First answer several questions. Do you have voltage at the solenoid when you press the down switch? Were you able to lower the top with the manual lever? Will the pump raise the top back up? If you remove the solenoid check to see if it is stuck. You have the old solenoid that is no longer made and when I researched before I could not find an aftermarket part to fit. I found a couple of new oldstock ones online but the cost was $500 To $600 each. These pumps have been used to raise snowplows, dumptrailers etc for decades. You might try looking at old dealers that are still in business to see if they can help. These pumps were mostly made by Monarch Hydraulics. Another company bought them so you would have to research that. I found a company online selling the same pump that went on newer HiLos for $319 in 2018. Northern tool also sells a pump made by another company that will replace yours. JandR trailer repair in Ohio would also have the pump. If you went with a new pump you would need to find out what pressure to set the pump at. You might get that info from JandR trailer repair in Ohio. If your pump raisers the top, you could lower it with the manual lever but it will take two people. If you need more info get back and ask.

ok. to start with the switch went bad could read voltage from both ends to center. It was being told to raise and lower at the same time. Replaced switch...still no down. Finally broke lose the manual lever and got it to lower manually. Started checking solenoid and it was clicking...opened it up and adjusted the travel to where top stared down and then backed off one turn. Everything working....Yes solenoid and pump will be hard to replace and very pricey...400 to 500 for solenoid. THANKS FOR HELP

THE HELP

Safety bar

Go under the trailer and check to see if the safety bar is stuck. Have a helper pull the wire by the up down control if the bar is stuck try raising the trailer a little, then pull the wire.
