With led bulbs, I like the warm white light with the brightness. I use Green Long Life LED bulbs Part# 5050107 330 lumens warm white by Ming's Mark
The best price I found was on Amazon

$17.98 at dyersonline.com if this makes a difference. I would have a hard time spending $200 to change the "hue" inside the Hi-Lo

I changed out all of my lights to LED. But I did it the cheap way. $1.59 for 2. Yes they do have a slight blueish tint and are not exceptionally bright. But they do NOT drain my battery.
I figured out that I could have all of the LED lights X 2, on in my hi-lo and wouldn't pull the as much current as 1(one) of the filament bulbs.

Did I mention I am retired, poor, and pull a 30 year old trlr. So spending $18 for 1(one) light bulb is totally out of the question.

I have not had any failures with my cheap LED's and wold recommend them to any that chose this route.

Steve,
Where did you get your LEDs for that cheap? We end up using battery lanterns at night so as not to drain the battery and then carry a spare fully charged battery in the truck too. I would gladly have only 1 filament bulb in the bathroom and the rest LEDs, and as you said turn on several.

Got them from Amazon...from china..
price has changed modestly

2pcs 13-SMD 1156 S25 Ba15s 12V Backup Signal Blinker Tail Light LED bulbs P

I saw that they are charging $10 for 10 bulbs now plus free shipping. I purchased 10 and that covers every bulb replacement for my hi-lo, to include the outside door light. All I tested used less than 1 watt of power.
They are 1156 style with 13 led's per bulb.
So actually they are cheaper than when I purchased them since I had to pay for ship also.

And thanks again for the rt #12 heads up on our trip through so. Utah. You were right, very scenic and worth the drive.

I ordered a couple strings of led lights from ebay. I think they will look great in the corners between the top and sides and give plenty of light most of the time inside. If they work I may gat a string for over the door.
Waterproof 5M 300 SMD RGB 3528 Strip LED Flexible Light Strip Rope for DC 12V | eBay

I'll let you know when I try them out.
I bought 10 strings of battery operated Christmas tree lights about 8 years ago and we use them in the house when the power goes out. each string works on 3 AAA batteries I think I paid $1.90 a string at Big Lots on close out after Christmas so I think these will be fine.

I made LED bulbs for the clearance lights in the rear using a 1/2 watt 750 ohm resistor in series with 2 white LED's for each lamp. They work fine. I use a lot of LED's on my train layout and you can buy them cheap in bulk from Ebay, you just have to use a resistor to limit the current through them or the blow out.

Great I'll order some and replace the ones in the HiLo. We have been camping in it on our RV lot with 120 but we plan on a trip to Southern Utah.
I am so glad you enjoyed that ride. We were behind some folks in a big motorhome with Kansas plates going over the Hogback from Boulder and they slowed to a crawl - not from steepness but from fear. I felt bad for them.

I ordered these from Ebay and got them today. They are much brighter than the regular 12 volt bulbs having 48 LEDs per light. The lights are on a card with 2 sided tape on the back and have an adaptor that twists into the receptacle. You just stick them to the top of the fixture and they work like a charm. 10 of them for about 18 bucks! Link below.

I just ordered the 10 pack of bulbs. Great deal. Cheaper than the incandescent bulbs at stores here and I can use the ones I take out in my other trailer.
Thanks for the tip.

I got them and they all worked, were as bright as the others and work great. Thanks again.

You could have all of your lighting on and not use as much current as one regular 1146 bulb.

Glad I could repay by the favor!!!!!!

Superbrightleds.com is having a cyber sale with an extra 10% off this weekend. Most of their lights have a buc circuit onboard that allows them to operate over a wide range of voltages. Plus they are closing out a light that I can use at a much reduced price. I ordered warm white for the inside fixtures and amber for the outside fixture. Prices on the items do not reflect the extra 10% discount.

Qty Product/Options Price/Ea
1 1156-PCB-A24 Amber 100 Degree 5.95
14 1156-PCB-WWHP9 Warm White 4.95
