Question I have a 96 towlite the hydrolic lifting system was shot. So I have removed it and put a 2500 lb winch to lift but with no luck. Any suggestions.

Yes, it's worth it! What troubleshooting have you done? Starter motor? Hydraulic cylinder leak? There are a limited number of possibilities! Good luck.

Pulled pump and motor they were shot replacing cables they were not in good shape either tho trying to find the right size is frustrating and I'm having the piston rebulit

That is a single action the one I purchased not 10 minutes ago was the double action. I hope I didn't make a bad purchase😵

Did you contact either Midget or JR trailers to purchase cable? They will know the right diameter at least. I'm pretty sure there's nothing special about these cables...i.e. they're not stainless steel.

A cheapie digital caliper would give you a definitive answer on diameter, though I think your measuring tape would be sufficient.

Here's a write-up on replacing and adjusting the cables:

It looks very thorough, at 15 pages in length.

Harbor Freight sells a 50' roll of 5/32" wire rope for $10.

Or 100' for less than $15.

Does this help?

Good luck
