I pulled my 98 Classic 22 to a festival today and am having problems with the lift. My battery is dead so I tried to jump it and it will not lift, it makes a noise like it’s not enough voltage. So I thought no big deal I’ll use the manual lift. It worked fine but it runs out of oil about 3 or so inches from the top. Any sugestions? Is it low of hydraulic oil or do they not go all the way up in manual? It’s close to the top just not enough ot get the safety bar to latch.

The fluid level should be checked in the down position and it should be at the bottom edge of the fill tube on the pump itself. Easy way to check is with a straw so you can bend it to get into the fill tube on the pump if needed and then mark the top edge and when you pull it out you can see how far down the level is on the straw. Hope this helps.

Yes it is possible the battery may be part of the issue. The battery is intended to give a higher cranking power to supply the demand of the hydraulic pump power. But you may have a bad solenoid on the pump also, if your trying to use jumper cables on the battery terminals and it is still not working. I think you have to put the jumper cables directly on the connections of the pump to rule out the solenoid or breaker. Hopefully someone else will confirm or help if I have it incorrect. If your not sure, take the safest solution, try to get your battery recharged if possible first. Hope this helps

Jumper battery?

Hows the condition of that? I know when I jump mine off my tv it doesn't hurt to give it some gas... If that battery is less than tip-top it may not be giving you what you need.

I stopped by Wal-Mart today and got a new battery to put in when I get there this evening, I also got a quart of Dextron 3 transmission oil so if its low I can add a little. I may add some to get it up in manual so my wife can go in and start getting everything tidy, I can monitor it and suck some out if it looks like the little tank is going to over flow, its pretty easy to get to.

Thanks to everbody for the help!!!!!
