Hey I'm missing the pulley on my 1986 fun cruiser had a blow out and driver side rear cable broke and the pulley came off. Can anyone show me where the pulley goes that takes the cable from the frame up into the body

Good afternoon.

So sorry to hear about the damage your unit sustained. It appears that the angle iron that holds the pulley may also be missing. Do you have any other photos from a distance to give us a feel for what this area looks like? It appears the flooring may have a hole in it where the angle iron once was.

I have a 97 towlite, 2000 classic and 91 funlite. I am certain that one of them is setup like your is and would be happy to take photos/measurements once I know exactly where your damage is located.

Fear not, this is repairable with a little creativeness.

There is a hole that I will also need ideas on how to fix. The cable was my first priority. I do believe you are right from looking at the other side the iron is gone so I'll have to figure something out. I'll attach a few more pictures of the damage and the other side

Cable replacement

I replaced one cable just prior to selling my Hi LO. I believe there is good information on this site when you access information about cable replacement. I printed out what I found so I had it as a reference while I was doing the work. I probably gave the print out o the person who purchased my camper a number of years ago. Keep looking and asking.

Regards.

Wow!! It appears like the angle iron that extends outward from the main frame sheared off completely!! The iron/metal that broke off, is where the pulley gets bolted to. You will most likely need the have a similar piece of iron welded back onto the main frame and then install a pulley at the end of it.

It's unbelievable how a tire blowout can shear off a metal weld like that!! Again! WOW!!

Tire blowouts in trailers do incredible damage. This is why I've always had a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) that I can trust on my trailer and truck tires. Mine shows both the pressure and the temperature of each tire on an app on my cellphone. It presents an alarm if either go into dangerous ranges, and it has a DIFFERENT notification if a signal from a tire is lost. The one I'm using now seems to never lose the signal from any of the tires and it's very easy to monitor them.
