I am glad I found this forum. There seems to be a lot of info I wish I had found sooner.

We salvaged an '86 Funchaser from the brink of death after it was parked in the woods for 20 years. Of course the roof leaked for quite a while before we got it. I'll list the repairs we made if anyone has any questions about the repairs I will help if I can.

Replaced:
ceiling paneling and wall paneling from curtain wall front.
cooling coil on a Dometic RM2400 refrigerator (1/2 price of new unit)
brakes and magnets
black water valve
curtain wall using awning fabric (close match to original)
lower wood frame on left and right sides of the top half
weatherstripping around the bottom of the top half
guide blocks for raising/lowering
water pump
toilet valve and seals
awning spring (Carefree)
breakaway switch
tires
battery
water fill neck
fenderskirts

Upgrades:
scissor jacks for leveling (with cordless drill)
radio and speakers mounted in front wall
12V outlets
lighting
air conditioner

P.S. One problem was the low water pressure. When I replaced the water pump, the line from the water tank had shavings in it from where the factory drilled the tank. Once cleared out the pressure was fine.

Welcome aboard! As you have probably gathered, there is a wealth of information on the forum. The people are friendly and eager to help with problems or just chit chat. It looks like you did a nice job on your restoration! Happy Camping!

Great job on your redu, also check under your hi-lo, if you can see the wood floring, make sure you use spray undercoating or you won't have a floor left. I had to replace my bath floor after I purchased mine. I didn't know to look fo some of the problems associated with certain models of hi-lo's. also replace all of your cone washers in your water fixtures, tub faucet, bathroom faucet, toilet inlet, and kitchen sink faucet. Looks like your find turned to gold!

Looks Great...

Wow..... looks brand new. Glad to see so much can be done to keep the HiLo in good working order !!!!

I purchased a 1908T here in Arkansas last week. Can't wait to take it out some more.

Looks great and you must be talented to do all of those repairs yourself. BTW If that spare tire cover is yours- I want to say thank you for my freedom. I appreciate you and what you have given.
