My question is- how do you know the battery was fully charged? You would need to check it without it being plugged into your house power- either with a multi meter or, better yet, a hydrometer.
At any rate- I don't know how the boxes are configured on that year of trailer but is there may be a way you can directly "jump" the hydraulic raising mechanism if that is accessible with the top down. On mine- I CAN raise the battery door enough to expose those components and get cables on them in a pinch.
